Arlene Mashack

Arlene Mary Mashack, age 97 of Montello passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Markesan Resident Home. Arlene was born on July 9,1928 to George and Mathilda (Prahl) Fleegal in Medford. She was the youngest of seven siblings and was very proud to graduate from Rib Lake High School in 1947. While working at Ripon College, Arlene met Stanley “Stosh” Mashack through mutual friends, and they married on September 2, 1950 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello and together they remained devout members that church for the rest of their lives. Stanley preceded Arlene in death on August 1, 2014.

Arlene and Stanley shared a deep love for animals, always having a black labrador and “house kitties” on the farm in rural Montello. She worked at Montello Products (now Arimon) for well over 40 years, finally retiring in 2013 at the age of 85.

Arlene is survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Elvin “Al” Fleegal, Verna Dassow, Ervin Fleegal, George Fleegal, Ruth Judnic and Marion Dassow.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Arlene Mashack will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Father Savio Yerasani will preside and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

David Christopherson

David Scott Christopherson, age 63 of Oxford (formerly of Mukwonago) passed away Wednesday, December 09, 2025 at his home. David was born in Milwaukee on August 30, 1962 to Robert and Carol (Rouer) Christopherson. He graduated from Milwaukee Pulaski High School in 1980 and immediately entered the work force. Dave lived and worked in the Milwaukee area for several manufacturing companies as a logistics manager. He was married to Barb Price for 27 years. David recently retired and moved to Oxford to be closer to family. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors: hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and he was also an avid sporting clays shooter. David was mechanically gifted, able to fix anything, and will be remembered for being a kind and caring friend to all.

David leaves behind his father, Robert of Oxford, son, Jason of Milwaukee and two brothers: Glen (Karen) of North Carolina and Brien (Pamela) of Brookfield along with several other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his mother.

No services are planned at this time.

Natasha Gean Lambert, age 32 of Westfield passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 30, 2025 at her home. Natasha was born on June 14, 1993 in Berlin to Gary and Sara (Lipke) Lambert. She graduated from Montello High School in 2011. Natasha moved to South Dakota working at a daycare where she realized her true passion was caring for children. She found love in Westfield with Tommy DeCarlis and his three daughters; raising them as her own, teaching them many life lessons. Natasha supported her family by caring for a handicapped cousin. She was a beautiful person and will be remembered for her caring personality and selflessness.

Natasha leaves behind her mother, Sara Lambert of Northwood, IA and father, Gary Lambert of Westfield as well as maternal grandmother Helen Lambert. She is also survived by her partner, Tommy DeCarlis and their daughters: Kaylee, Aliddia and Elora.

Natasha is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Doliver and Betty Lipke and paternal grandfather, Alfred Lambert.

A Celebration of Natasha’s Life is being planned for a later date.

Sally Persigan

Sally Rose Persigan, age 76 of Oxford passed away Tuesday Dec. 2, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison. Sally was born in Chicago, IL on January 27, 1949 to Peter and Ruth (Kelleher) Grifo. She grew up in the Simi Valley, CA area before moving to Illinois where she met her partner Ed Tremaine and his son, Jim. They were blessed with two daughters.

Sally and Ed relocated to Oxford where you could find her working at many area bars and restaurants. She also was a horse wrangler at the OK Corral in Wisconsin Dells. She was a free spirit who loved picking rocks, hunting mushrooms and shopping at thrift stores. She loved her “stuff” that she collected over the years. Sally made friends wherever she went and was one of the most giving people. She was an amazing artist who loved painting whether it was a deer scene on a circular saw, a Christmas scene on a plate to give to her family and friends or the back fence of the Oxford Harvest Market.

Sally is survived by her children: Jim Tremaine-Smith of Schaumburg, IL, Michelle (Rob) Long of Rock Falls, IL, Rosealee (Jesse) Jahns of Dubuque, IA, “adopted” daughter, Pamela Young of Oxford as well as grandchildren: Matt and Miranda Long and Meghan (Casey) Schmidt. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Henley, Sadie, Ivy, Asher and Juniper Schmidt as well as sisters: Paula (Larry) Gustafson of FL and Lynda (Clay) Courchaine of Oxford, brothers: Jerry (Doug Matthews) of Flint, MI and John (Colleen) Marlewski of Oxford, sister-in-law Beth Marlewski of Rockford, IL., and many nieces, nephews and friends considered as Sally’s family.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, partner, Ed Tremaine, step-father, Lee Marlewski and brother, Mike Marlewski.

A Celebration of Sally’s Life will be held at the Oxford VFW on Saturday December 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM unitl 2:00 PM.

Jeremy Carpenter

Jeremy Shane Carpenter, age 52 of Montello (Lake Puckaway) passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 30, 2025 at his home. Jeremy was born in Ohio to Chester and Cheryl (Hame) Carpenter on April 14, 1973. Following high school, he went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1992 until 1997. At the time of his honorable discharge, his rank was Senior Airman.

Known by family as Shane, he spent time in Toledo, Ohio making memories with his aunt, uncle and cousin. He came to Lake Puckaway in 2015. Jeremy was employed as a computer technician and enjoyed his work in cyber security. In his spare time, he was a survival enthusiast, hiking, fishing and spending time outdoors.

Jeremy is survived by his two sons: Anthony of Union Grove and Tristan of Muskego as well as his faithful canine companion, Milo. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be held at a later date. Donations are preferred to his family.

Arnold “Arnie” Kenneth Schehr, age 67 of Endeavor passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family. Arnie was born in Portage on September 27, 1958 to Clifford and Delores (Schrab) Schehr. He owned and operated Schehr’s Landscaping and Excavating for 38 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed being at his farm, a good slot machine, and breakfast at Dinos.

Arnie is survived by his mother, Delores Schehr of Endeavor and six children: Rabecka (Don) Hankel of Endeavor, Joshua (Nicole Watford) Schehr of Montello, Lindsay (AJ Dummer) Schehr of Pardeeville, Bonnie (Kyle Wheaton) Schehr of Portage, Brittany (Ryan Stensrud) Siciliano of Portage and Rachael Schehr of Madison. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Cheryl Selbach and 16 grandchildren: Timothy, Kimberly, Alice, Noah, Zac, Amelia, Sofia, Luke, Lainey, Patience, Madison, Demontae, Vincent, Kaylee, Liddy, and Ellie. One of the greatest joys of his life was his grandchildren, who could always count on him for a gas-station treat run—earning him the beloved nickname ‘TicTac Grandpa’. He is further survived by his siblings: Gary, Tony (Sally), Brenda Schehr, Debbie (Doug) Thome and Kevin along with nieces, nephews and many friends.

Arnie is preceded in death by his father and grandson, Isaiah.

A celebration of Arnold Schehr's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Endeavor United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.

Lester Molkentin Jr.

Lester Kurt Molkentin Jr., age 83 of Montello passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 27, 2025 at his home. Lester was born in Richfield on February 15, 1942 to Lester Sr. and Betty (Schattschneider) Molkentin. In his youth, he attended the Elmwood one-room school in rural Jackson County. He lived in several states in the southwest before ultimately settling in Montello in 1997. Lester had many jobs throughout his life and was most recently a janitor for the Westfield School District. He enjoyed raising homing pigeons. Lester was a hard worker, cutting grass and still cutting his own fire wood this past year and will be remembered for his daily trip to the Hill Top Cafe to socialize with friends.

Lester is survived by his three children: Janet Liebsch of Rhinelander, Terry (Candy) of Milwaukee and Jeff of Packwaukee along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his bother, Donald. Lester is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Lester Molkentin Jr. will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Buffalo Community Bible Church, W4090 14th Road, Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Pastor Keith Graham will preside and private burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Richfield.
