We are home! Jasper spent 38 days in the NICU and we are so grateful for the gift of nurses and doctors he had. His nurses loved him like surrogate mothers the hours I was unable to be there.
The events of birth and NICU time really altered our natural bonding time, we are still working towards breastfeeding, and being away from my baby required me to ignore my primal instincts. The beginning was formulated and for his well-being it needed to be.
Now we are home and as we are bonding my body is responding to his cues and we are both reintegrating with honoring our body mind and spirit’s needs.
It’s an experience I look forward to sharing with you all when the time is right. It’s a journey supported by many wise women (and my amazing partner) and I look forward to embodying this medicine to deepen my offerings to other parents when I return to practice again.

Update:
Look at that babe fluffin’ up!
Jasper is “33 weeks” healthy as can be for his age. No underlying health issues and that’s a blessing. We have at minimum 2 weeks ahead because he is still developmentally too young to eat on his own. It could start at 34 weeks or as late as 37-40 weeks. So we wait.
Healing from a cesarean with a baby in NICU is a joke. I spend half my day sitting with my 4 year old and not able to keep up with her needs and the other half holding Jasper with kangaroo care to achieve all the benefits that kangaroo care provides and make up for the 9 weeks he missed in the womb. Sleeping is in Short cycles to pump every 3 hours to maintain milk supply.
We haven’t felt comfortable seeing friends and family as covid and flu have peaked and we can’t risk exposure to Jasper.
Though having nurses care for my baby around the clock birth and motherhood are primal relationships. Leaving my baby in the care of another while I drive 25 minutes home creates an ache in my body I’ve never experienced and I wonder what his developing mind and body think when his mother is missing for hours.
We have an abundance of blessings right now, but this is the hardest thing I’ve done as a mother. I’m ready to slow down and heal, have my babe at home, and be able to visit with friends and family again.
Love to you all! Thank you for being your amazing selves, and we anxiously await to be on the other side of this.

Hello to my wonderful birth community. Bed rest quickly turned into an emergency cesarean at 31 weeks.
My little Jasper is thriving at CHOMP NICU and I am healing beautifully.
We have had immense support from our midwives and community. Thank you all for showing our family so much love and nourishment, we are beyond grateful and doing well because of your support.
As the weeks pass by I’ll share more details.
Even though my birth was emergent it was so beautiful, guided and supported. And the challenging days ahead have also been so supported.
Hoping this new year fills all of your cups to the brim with joy and adventures.

Happy Holidays to all my amazing clients! I am looking forward to returning in the Spring to practice. I’ll be on bed rest the remainder of this pregnancy incubating this cute little guy before he comes earthside in January. Looking forward to staying connected with you all throughout this time as you endeavor your own journeys.
May your days be abundant with joy and new memories with loved ones.

Oh my goodness. This cutie rocking an amazing hair day while receiving bodywork has my heart on fire.
Babies are incredible and the first year of life is filled with so much developmental and physical growth. Helping babes maintain alignment, keeping an eye on reflexes, strong and fluid bodies can help them move forward optimally.
Love working with the babes!

Over the past year I have been training with and learning how to enhance my care for women during the postpartum period. This month we as practitioners are connecting and sharing our medicine to the women in our communities!
Message me to learn more.

Ancient postpartum traditions throughout the world—while specific to the cultural context in which they come—all share deep common roots. These traditions are rooted in women’s physiologic design.

The commonalities of the world’s postpartum traditions include:

🌿 An extended resting period

🌿 Warmth

🌿 Specific foods

🌿 Healing bodywork

🌿 Supportive community

For both short and long term female health.

Mothers are the heart, the foundation of the people. Supporting Mothers to thrive supports healthy and empowered families, which supports thriving communities, which supports all of humanity. We “take care of” the future generations, by taking care of the Mothers.

Postpartum care is crucial, and yet it’s most often a missing piece of women’s health care in the modern world. “Postpartum” refers to the period of time after ANY pregnancy carry.

Now, INNATE Postpartum Care – Certified Practitioners are filling this gap through community education and application. Coming from a variety of backgrounds including:

✨ Midwives and doulas

✨ Nurses and chiropractors

✨ Lactation consultants

✨ Mental health professionals

✨ And more

INNATE Practitioners understand the unique needs and opportunities of the postpartum period, and are dedicated to helping Mothers and families create, maintain and sustain postpartum WELLNESS.

Thank you for nominating me as a finalist for Favorite Doula.

Our community is thriving with women who are supporting mother’s through their pregnancy, birth, and motherhood journey.
In being nominated I feel like it’s such an isolated honor as each woman that I support is held by a community that is able to meet her needs in so many ways.
Being a part of this tribe is important to me as we continue to help the women in our community rise and thrive.
“When women thrive all of society benefits and succeeding generations are given a better start in life” -Kofi Annan
Thank you for honoring me as I continue to support women through bodywork, labor support, and infant CranioSacral care.

To make you final vote the link will be in my bio until the final vote day which is October 10th (my birthday 🎂)

With overflowing gratitude,
Cait

So many people who find out about my abortion state, “Well, you are the exception.” And I am here to tell you that I’m the reason these bans need to stop. If you took the time to understand the scenario you would find that many women are an “acception”. There are many many more women whose physical and mental is affected by having our reproductive rights taken away.
Today is triggering for me as I am 16 weeks pregnant. One week shy of the same week I found out I had to terminate my last pregnancy. I could not imagine being where I was two years ago and having no where to turn to or being criminalized for my health needs.

August is one of my favorite months as we begin to feel the transition from the bustle of summer into the grounding of Fall. The crows seems to rejoice and the wind is still warm and reminds us of the joy we gathered during the season.
This Fall I’m grounding deeper into postpartum care and will begin to share my offerings in the upcoming weeks. I’ve spent the past year immersed with and other mentors to create better care and nourishment for new mothers in our community. Looking forward to connecting with you all 🤗
