HISTORY
In January 1963, Gordon Hoffman—a graduate of John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee—moved from Citronelle, Alabama to Montevallo. At that time, he remodeled a house on Main Street, opening it as Hoffman Funeral Home. In 1965, Gordon died as his son-in-law Billy G. Rockco was attending John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science. Following his graduation, Billy resumed the business, changing the name to Hoffman-Rockco Funeral Home.
A few years later in 1968, the construction of a new facility began on Highway 25 South. Over the years, the facility was remodeled twice and is now currently known as Rockco Funeral Home.
In 1998, Billy retired after a long career dedicated to serving the community. Today, our funeral home is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers.
