Monday Weather Update 💛❄️

With local schools closed, I wanted to share a quick note for families scheduled on Monday, January 26th.

At this time, the office plans to remain open, and I’m keeping a close eye on road and weather conditions throughout the day. If driving conditions become unsafe, the office will close and families will be notified right away. 🚗🌨️

If being out and about feels tricky, you’re always welcome to request a virtual session or reschedule. Just let me know no later than 9:00 A.M. Monday morning so I can plan accordingly. 💻📅 You can reach me via text and email this weekend should you need to a schedule change.

Just a gentle reminder that our regular attendance policy will still apply for Monday’s sessions — thank you for being so thoughtful about letting me know if plans change. 💛

🎄 December Office Hours 🎄
For the month of December, I’ll be operating on reduced hours — 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. each day.

I’m using this time to wrap up end-of-year paperwork, reset for the new year, and prepare for some fun new programs launching in January! 🎉✨

Regular business hours return Monday, January 5th.

Our office will be closed November 24–28 for Thanksgiving week!
I’ll be spending the week eating way too much pie and loving on my fur babies. 🐾🥧

We’ll be back in action on December 1st, ready for all the smiles, sounds, and speech magic. ✨

🦃🍁 Gratitude Grows Communication! 🍁🦃

This time of year is all about giving thanks — and it’s also a perfect time to help little ones express thanks in their own way!

Here are a few fun, fall-themed ways to build language through gratitude:
✨ Talk about things your family is thankful for each day — even simple things like “warm blankets,” “pumpkin muffins,” or “daddy hugs.”
🍎 Have your child draw or choose pictures of favorite people, foods, and activities to make a Thankful Tree or Gratitude Collage.
🧡 Model short, simple phrases like “Thank you,” “I love this,” or “I like ___.” Even nonverbal children can participate using gestures, pictures, or AAC!

Every “thank you” — whether spoken, signed, or shown — helps build stronger communication and connection. 💬💚💜

We love seeing our community making communication accessible for every child! 💬💜 Big applause to Pike Road Schools for creating playgrounds where all kids can play and express themselves 👏.

All three of Pike Road Schools' playgrounds are now equipped with communication boards and inclusive swings to make sure that all children have fun and can communicate, regardless of their abilities.
