Carastar is dedicated to serving our community and the River Region in the Area of Mental Health! We are excited to work with many community partners including Mental Health America, Crossbridge Behavioral Health (of Baptist Health - Central Alabama), the Montgomery County Probate Office, the Montgomery Police Department , and NAMI to develop the new Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program!
This program aims to address mental health challenges within our homeless community, reduce hospital readmissions, and prevent unnecessary incarcerations! We are so proud of this initiative, and can't wait for the positive impact this program will have in our local community!

Here at Carastar Health, it is important to engage clients in meaningful physical outdoor activity, while showing them how to grow healthy foods. An important part of mental health is to create a sense of purpose and something to be proud of.
We are so proud of our clients, who participated in the cultivation of this garden of okra, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeños, hot peppers, watermelons, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, squash, cabbage and collards! They were able to prep, plant and see the garden grow from start to finish and were even able to cook and eat the fruit of their labor.

We at Carastar Health are devastated by recent tragic events that occurred in our community on October 4th. We send our condolences and well wishes to the families of the River Region of those who are deceased as well as those who were injured and are in recovery.

In the days and weeks to come, we as a community may face many difficult emotions while our city reckons with the impacts of community violence.
