Although we are continuing to see Covid numbers decline, Long term care facilities are continuing to see new mandates. The following now applies to visitation in our facilities. You must complete a screening process or form. If you answer affirmatively to any question related to potential illness or infection we would ask that you help us protect our patients and residents by rescheduling your visit. If you insist on visiting, please wear a mask over your mouth and nose and socially distance yourself. We would also request that the visit occur outside or in an activity or lounge area away from other patients or residents. We are also required to ask about your vaccination status. Being “UP TO DATE” on Covid vaccination indicates you have taken one J&J or two PFizer or Moderna vaccines AND a booster if you are eligible. If you are not up to date you may be at risk for contracting Covid while in our facilities.

Just a little update today. As you most likely noticed we haven't posted much this week. Lisa is out on a well deserved vacation. I can guarantee you, even though we haven't posted pictures, we have been doing tons of fun stuff everyday with Lisa's assistance Ashley. We have participated in the Geri-Olympics, played games, completed some craft things and we still plan on having church tomorrow as well as family visits. We just wanted to update you guys, now that you know who does all the work around here. Just know that everyone has had a great week so far! 💖

We would like to take a minute and give praise where praise is due. Our Lisa won an award for having a caring heart (we think she has the biggest heart). I think the only person who didn't already know that was Lisa. We are thankful that Lisa keeps our residents and staff busy and happy.

Visitation guidelines have changed. Visits no longer follow the color coded map. We will begin visits next week starting Monday. Residents/patients must be outside of their initial/readmission 14 days to visit. We request that only two persons at a time come and both persons will have a rapid Covid test will be completed by the facility. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment for this testing. The duration of the visit will be 30 minutes. Masks, plexiglass dividers and social distancing will be required. We are excited for the visits to begin. Please call 304.442.7407 from 9am-3:30pm to schedule these visits.

Unfortunately ECU will need to suspend in-person visitation effective 2/5/2021 due to an increase in community Covid spread in Fayette County. This will be re-evaluated after the Saturday map is released. I apologize for this change. Please call 304-442-7407 if you would like to schedule a virtual visit.

I am sad to report that Fayette County moved to the “orange” category today which means that ALL visits (except end of life) are cancelled THROUGH Saturday, September 5, 2020. 😥. However, we are thankful to report that the facility, residents and staff remain Covid free on ECU.

Per order of Governor Justice, all nursing home visitation will be suspended as of midnight tonight (12 am 8/13/2020). You may still call and schedule a FaceTime visit. We realize the emotional impact of this decision but our overall goal is the health and safety of our residents. To schedule a FaceTime visit please call 304.442 7407.

MGH is pleased to continue to offer family visits. However under current guidelines and with an increase in Covid cases in the area, we MUST follow guidelines. This includes a limit of TWO adult visitors at each visit, fully and properly wearing masks over the nose and mouth, avoid touching the resident and keeping six feet distance between you and your loved one. Please do not become upset with staff when they ask you to follow these STATE guidelines. It would be tragic to ask a family to leave or to refrain from scheduling future visits but to avoid a Covid exposure, a state citation or loss of visitation status for all families, we MUST enforce these rules. Your cooperation is essential and greatly appreciated!❤️
