Vision vs. Medical Eye Visits โ What You Need to Know
Not all eye visits use vision insurance.
๐๏ธ Medical eye exams are for eye problems like infections, eye pain, foreign objects, flashes or floaters, injuries, or sudden vision changes.
๐ These visits are billed to your medical insurance and usually require a specialist co-pay.
๐ Routine eye exams are for annual vision checks and updating glasses or contacts when no symptoms are present.
๐ These are typically covered by vision insurance.
