CAVHCS Chaplain John W. Bailey joined Army Chaplains and American Legion leadership at Fort Benning for a solemn service honoring the legacy of the Four Chaplains. On this day in 1943, four chaplains of different faiths made the ultimate sacrifice aboard the USAT Dorchester, giving up their life jackets to save others as the ship sank. Today's service brought together military and community leaders to reflect on their enduring example of unity, selfless service, and courage. We are proud to see our CAVHCS pastoral care team represented at this important commemoration of World War II.

Honoring a true American hero!

CAVHCS leadership recently had the distinct privilege of recognizing Mr. Warren E. Dillard with a certificate of recognition signed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Mr. Dillard’s legacy of service is nothing short of extraordinary, spanning three major conflicts: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His dedication to our country included time in both the U.S. Navy and the Army Reserve.

Even after hanging up the uniform, Mr. Dillard continued his mission of service as the Chief of Food Production and Services at the Tuskegee VA Hospital for his entire civilian career.

Please join us in thanking Mr. Dillard for his incredible lifetime of service and sacrifice!
