The Alabama Department of Insurance is taking action! The PBM Compliance Division has published actions against two PBMs. One taken in October against Drexi and the other this week against Express Scripts.
We appreciate the Department for enforcing last year’s legislation. This wouldn’t happen without our members’ participation by filing complaints. Keep up the good work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week for the Alabama Pharmacy Association Legislative Reception! We were thrilled to welcome more than 75 pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy staff for an evening of meaningful conversations and new connections. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to thank our legislators for continuing to give pharmacy a fighting chance in Alabama.

Missed this event? No problem! We hope to see you on April 1 at the APA Legislative Lunch!

APA members: Urgent Action Needed ‼️

APA continues to work with PEEHIP on low reimbursement rates through their Humana Medicare contract. We are asking pharmacies that serve retired PEEHIP under a Humana contract to sign onto our letter to PEEHIP, expressing the need for urgent action to address the issue.

📃 You can find a link to the letter in your email.
**Please DO NOT send this letter directly to PEEHIP on your own! Our goal is to send one letter with everyone's signature.**

✨At 95 (almost 96) years young, Clemont Carpenter is still showing up for his patients, five days a week. A long-time Alabama Pharmacy Association member and active pharmacist at Foster Drug Company, Incorporated, Clemont continues to serve his community in Crenshaw County with the same dedication that has defined his career.

He is a past Board of Pharmacy member, proud Bowl of Hygeia recipient, and former Mayor of Luverne. Clemont jokes that he “cut back” to just 40 to 50 hours a week when he turned 80. 💊👏
This is what a lifetime of service and love for the profession looks like.
