What is pelvic organ prolapse?

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common condition where pelvic floor muscles and ligaments weaken, causing pelvic organs—bladder, uterus, or re**um—to sag, bulge, or drop into or out of the va**nal canal

There are 3 main types:

• Front wall – the bladder drops down
• Back wall – the re**um drops forward
• Top support – the uterus (or top of the va**na) drops down

Many women panic when they hear the word “prolapse,” but the degree matters — and many cases are very manageable with pelvic floor therapy.

Think of it like levels:

• Mild – lower than normal, but still inside
• Moderate – at the va**nal opening
• Advanced – bulging outside

If you’re feeling pressure, heaviness, or bulging, you’re not alone — and there are options 🤍

Your pelvic floor is not an island. 🏝️

It’s part of your lumbopelvic-hip complex — the system made up of your low back, pelvis, hips, glutes, and deep core muscles.

These muscles don’t work alone.
They work together.

When you walk, squat, lift, run, or carry your kids, your glutes and pelvic floor naturally co-contract to create stability and manage pressure.

That means:

• Weak hips can contribute to pelvic floor symptoms
• Low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction are often connected
• Isolated Kegels aren’t always enough

If we only strengthen the pelvic floor but ignore the hips and spine, we’re missing part of the system. 🤯

Strong glutes.🍑
Coordinated core. 🤝
Resilient pelvic floor.💪

It’s all connected.⛓️

You don’t have to be a Bridgerton fan to appreciate this scene. I have zero doubt it’s a conversation that most women have had at least ONCE in their lives. 🫣

Francesca simply asks: do you experience the, um, pinnacle.

Penelope’s response: yes, of course. Do you not?

And here’s the thing: until you have that conversation, especially for those who aren’t or don’t reach the summit, you won’t begin the trek of understand how YOUR body works to get there. ⛰️

Fun fact: for many women (up to 70–90%!!!) pe*******on alone isn’t enough to get past base camp.🏕️
This is where sexual anatomy and physiology really help us understand the female body and how it works, rather than how we’ve been told it’s “supposed” to work. 😏

I know, I know. These are such taboo conversations, but here the thing, the first step is admitting something is missing. Having open and honest communication and conversations with your partner can transcend physical intimacy, creating emotional and psychological intimacy, ESPECIALLY if it gets you both to the pinnacle. Because, let’s be real: it’s lonely at the top. 😅⛰️💥🙌💚
