Today’s 60 & Better Lunch & Learn was filled with great conversation, music, delicious food, and plenty of smiles! 🍽️😊

Participants enjoyed our “Food, Fun, and Feeling Good!” session with Sara from Kirby Culinary Medicine and Dr. Alina Paul, who shared simple, joyful ways to support health through nutrition and everyday wellness.

Whether you’re helping raise funds, volunteering during Hospital Week, or keeping the Kirby Auxiliary Gift Shop running, your commitment makes a difference every day.

Our annual races wouldn’t be possible without the energy and support of our many volunteers, either. Thank you for helping us bring these events to life year after year.

As we celebrate our 85th anniversary, we’re reminded that every volunteer along the way has helped make this milestone possible. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you who helps make our hospital stronger.

At the end of March, Kirby Ambulance was proud to visit schools in Monticello, Atwood, Bement, Cerro Gordo, and Deland through our Adopt-A-Medic program! 🚑

Our team spoke with students about bicycle, ATV, and snowmobile safety. Thanks to a generous donation from the Atwood Fire Department, every 2nd grader at Atwood School received a free bicycle helmet to help keep them safe.

Thank you to the schools and students for welcoming us. We’re proud to support safety in our communities!

We’re wrapping up our 60 & Better Lunch n’ Learn series this Thursday, April 23, from 11:30-1pm, and we hope you’ll join us! This session will take place in the Therapy & Wellness Center basement in the Wellness Multipurpose Room. Staff will be available to help guide you in the right direction if needed.

This week will feature Sara Eades, Director of Nutrition Care Services, demonstrating how to prepare a hearty and healthy meal — a Thai-inspired quinoa salad, as well as, discussing the MIIND Diet and strategies for prolonging the onset of dementia. Attendees will get to enjoy the quinoa salad for lunch after her demonstration. Dr. Alina Paul of Kirby Medical Group will also be joining us to share how singing supports health and wellness 🎶.

This series is designed for adults 60 and up, though everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is encouraged at kirbyhealth.org/60andbetter.
