Influenza A Activity Increasing in Minnesota
Influenza A continues to circulate widely across Minnesota this December, with rising outpatient visits and hospitalizations. Common symptoms include fever, chills, myalgias, fatigue, cough, sore throat, and congestion.
🩺 Symptom Management
• Acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever/myalgias
• OTC decongestants and cough suppressants for comfort (ask your local pharmacist for best recommendations)
• Adequate hydration and rest
• Avoid antibiotics unless bacterial infection is suspected (consult with your primary care provider)
