Influenza A Activity Increasing in Minnesota

Influenza A continues to circulate widely across Minnesota this December, with rising outpatient visits and hospitalizations. Common symptoms include fever, chills, myalgias, fatigue, cough, sore throat, and congestion.

🩺 Symptom Management
• Acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever/myalgias
• OTC decongestants and cough suppressants for comfort (ask your local pharmacist for best recommendations)
• Adequate hydration and rest
• Avoid antibiotics unless bacterial infection is suspected (consult with your primary care provider)

🌿 Immune Support
• Sleep optimization and stress reduction
• Anti-inflammatory, gluten-free whole-food nutrition
• Evidence-supported supplements:
– Vitamin D
– Vitamin C
– Zinc (oral)
– Elderberry

👃 Upper Respiratory Symptom Relief
• Neti pot or saline nasal irrigation (sterile or distilled water, NOT tap)
• Saline spray for mucosal hydration
• Honey and lozenges for cough and throat irritation
• Cool-mist humidifier at bedside nightly

🚫 Infection Prevention
• Home isolation while febrile
• Hand hygiene
• Respiratory etiquette
• Surface disinfection

💉 Vaccination remains an effective strategy to reduce severity and complications for those who are immunocompromised.

✨ Motivity Health provides vitamin infusion therapy for patients needing additional immune and hydration support.

⚠️DECLASSIFIED⚠️

Exhausted all the time.
Brain fog. Low motivation. Slower recovery.

Most men are told this is “just aging.”
For many, it’s not.

Stress, sleep disruption, and hormone imbalance quietly chip away at performance year after year.

Operation APEX was built to identify the root cause—using data, not guesswork—and restore what’s been lost.

📍 Minnesota men
Phase I clearance begins with labs and a physician consult.

Peak performance isn’t gone.
It’s been classified—until now.

Get Back in the Game. Feel Your Best Again.

Did you know up to 40% of men have low testosterone?
"In my experience as a former medical director for a men’s health clinic, that number may be even higher." -Dr. Hammerbeck

Why does low T happen?

Modern life works against healthy hormone levels.
• Chronic stress
• Poor sleep
• Environmental toxins
• Lifestyle factors
All of these can impact testosterone production.

Common symptoms of low testosterone:

• Low s*x drive or erectile dysfunction
• Fatigue and low energy
• Mood changes or irritability
• Brain fog or trouble concentrating
• Loss of muscle + increased body fat
• Thinning body/facial hair
• Lower bone density
• Breast tissue growth (gynecomastia)
• Infertility

Long-term risks if untreated:

Low T can increase the risk of osteoporosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and depression.

Is TRT safe?

Yes—when medically supervised.
A major 2023 study confirmed no increased risk of heart attack or stroke with TRT compared to placebo.
And while TRT doesn’t cause prostate cancer, proper screening is essential to detect preexisting issues early—which is built into our process.

Our TRT Program: Simple, Safe, Personalized

Probiotics and prebiotics work together to keep your gut microbiome balanced and thriving.

Women’s health win – November 10, 2025 💜

On November 10, 2025, the FDA and HHS announced they are removing the broad “black box” warnings from many hormone replacement therapy (HRT) products for menopause—a huge step toward evidence-based, compassionate care for women in midlife.

For more than two decades, those warnings were based on data that didn’t reflect today’s science or typical patients. Now, after a comprehensive review of the evidence and an expert panel, the FDA is updating labels so women and clinicians can make decisions based on current data, not fear.

At Motivity Health, DPC, we’re here to help you understand what this change means for your body, your risks, and your options in perimenopause and menopause.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

At Motivity Health, DPC, we’re committed to empowering our community with knowledge and preventive care. Early detection saves lives — and that starts with you.

🌸 Do your monthly self-breast exams
A great time to perform them is a few days after your menstrual period, when breasts are least tender or swollen. Doing your exam in the shower can make it easier to notice any changes.

🩷 Schedule your mammogram
Women should start routine mammograms every other year beginning at age 40 — or sooner if you have a family history of breast cancer. Talk to your healthcare provider about what’s right for you.

🌿 Live a healthy lifestyle
Staying active, eating nourishing foods, limiting alcohol, and maintaining a healthy weight all contribute to lowering your risk and improving overall well-being.

Together, we can spread awareness, encourage early detection, and support one another in the journey toward better health. 💪

💊 Antibiotics Aren’t Always the Answer! 🤒

We love helping our patients feel better fast — but sometimes that means not reaching for antibiotics.

Here’s the truth: antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses. That means they won’t help with colds, flu, COVID, sore throats caused by viruses, or most sinus infections.

Using antibiotics when they aren’t needed can actually do more harm than good:
🚫 It can make bacteria stronger (that’s called antibiotic resistance)
😣 It can cause side effects like stomach upset or allergic reactions
🦠 And it can throw off your gut health

So what can you do when you’re feeling crummy with a viral bug?
✨ Rest — your body heals best when you slow down
💧 Drink plenty of fluids
🍲 Eat light, nourishing foods
🌿 Try soothing remedies like warm tea with honey, steam, or saltwater gargles
💊 Use fever reducers or pain relievers if needed

Most viral infections clear up on their own within a few days to a week, coughs can linger up to 6 weeks. If you’re not sure what’s going on or your symptoms are hanging around longer than expected, we’re always here to help you figure it out. 💙

Let’s use antibiotics wisely — so they keep working when we really need them!
