Running isn’t regulation
if your nervous system is already in survival.

High-intensity cardio activates the sympathetic nervous system:
adrenaline, cortisol, mobilization
(Porges, 2011; McEwen, 2007).

Great for danger.
Not great for chronic stress.

Does that mean running is bad?
Nope.
Running might be a safe and familiar option for your nervous system - keep going if it’s what you love.

But if you find that you continue to be wired and on edge you may want to sprinkle in more slower paced movement practices that connect you to your body and breathe.

before you start creating goals for 2026 and making the Pinterest board, have you tried being open and honest with where you are in your life right now?

I’m speaking from experience. I know what it’s like to blissfully create an aesthetic vision board and feel myself in the future doing yoga at dawn, with my hibiscus tea, on my fantasy Mediterranean terrace.

I know what it’s like to stop doing vision boards all together because the pain of not getting what I thought was destined for me was too much.

I’m not saying that the universe can’t catapult you into your dream life, but I am saying that most of the time these magical manifestations only come after lessons have been learned and patterns have been broken.

Life truly began to flow for me when I began to live in sync with the seasons and nature. Winter has been a season I have resisted the most, but it’s also a season where my inner world has truly thrived.

Winter gives us the opportunity to shed our skin and become new again. The medicine comes with not trying to rush or resist, but to surrender to the process. When we allow this to happen, Life shows us where our desires truly are. That’s what this workshop is all about.

In my college years I used the spend the void between the holidays and the new year writing in my journal reflecting on the year past. This was well before I did any self development or healing work. Little did I know that this little ritual was indeed a natural part of the season of the Winter Solstice… and now over a decade later I would get to curate something so special with all of you!

I call this the 333 method. You’ve got 3 minutes to brain dump all your chores, and 3 minutes to brain dump all your desires. Then you chose 3 items from each list to absolutely commit yourself to for the weekend.

Super helpful if you have executive dysfunction challenges like myself.
