Meghan joined us in Clara’s Garden Memory Care six months ago and she still brings her positive attitude and smile to work every day! Residents and staff alike benefit from her continued efforts to find new ways to make folks feel happy and well cared for. It's clear that Meghan contributes from the heart. She is ever ready to lend a helping hand, and we are so happy to have Meghan on our team!

We love singing with Debbie Yacovone! Debbie plays guitar AND the autoharp! If you don’t know, the autoharp is a 36-string chorded zither instrument that sounds so warm and beautiful. We are so lucky to have Debbie perform for us every month!

Once a month a bushel of fresh flowers is delivered to Clara’s Garden and we have the beautiful task of unpacking them, sorting them, and creating floral arrangements. This sort of activity awakens our senses. As you can see, very special care is taken with designing each vase.

Reflecting on our “Paint the Canvas” session in January when we were dreaming of spring! The act of painting can offer feelings of relaxation, connection, and support a sense of focus. It allows us to be together and also work quietly with our attention on only one thing. We’re often surprised and delighted by what we create!

Here we captured a resident and Med Tech, Zoie, sharing a smile with each other. Zoie is one of featured "Difference Makers" we have on staff here at The Gary Residence. Zoie's always at the ready to make our residents day better. She enjoys getting to know everyone and her openness and quick-wit are enjoyed by residents and staff alike. We're lucky to have Zoie's generosity and caring spirit on our team!

We adore seeing our friends from the Kellogg-Hubbard Library! Earlier this month, we hosted as children and families/caregivers came together with library staff to share a couple of their favorite stories, and to spend time with our residents. Our Story

Established in 1941, The Gary Residence is a senior living community like no other. We are a residential care community that includes 13 private suites in an historic downtown home in Montpelier, Vermont. At The Gary Residence, we strive to preserve the values of a private home with the greatest possible amount of freedom and individual choice. We blend a healthy balance of independence with the right amount of support, with plenty of privacy and just the right mix of activities and amenities. Residents remain as active as they want to be while enjoying the comforts of our natural home setting. As a licensed residential care home, we provide room, board, personal care, general supervision, nursing oversight and medical management, but not full-time nursing care. Our residents enjoy their own suites with private bath, elegant common areas, an engaging staff, and a lively activity calendar.
