Meet Gemma!

Gemma joined the Bear Lake Animal Hospital family in January after moving here from Springville, UT to be closer to her fiancé.

Although her love for ranch life runs deep, it’s something she discovered after high school— and now she can’t imagine life without her horses, cows, and her dog by her side.

With a lifelong love of animals and a dad who is a veterinarian, it’s no surprise that her passion for animals and the veterinary field runs deep. Around here, she’s quickly become a huge asset to the team — always ready to help and always keeping busy. When asked what her favorite part of the job has been so far, her answer was easy: “The staff — they make the job so much more worth it.” The staff agrees that she makes it a great place for them to be as well!

Don’t let the boots and ranch work fool you — Gemma is also a dancer! She’s been dancing since she was 5 years old! She teaches dance, judges competitions, and even does choreography gigs. As if that wasn’t enough talent, she’s also amazing at custom leather work.

The most rewarding part of this job for her has been helping both the animals and the community. When it’s time to unwind after a long day at the clinic, you’ll likely find her back at the ranch with her horses or busy tackling a new project — because staying busy is just her thing.

We’re so lucky to have you on the team, Gemma — you bring so much heart, energy, and talent to Bear Lake Animal Hospital!

Gemma marries her favorite cowboy, Adam Davidson, next month! Let's surprise her with all of the best marriage advice below!....

We are back to having one doctor at the clinic following Dr. Fulmer’s recent decision to officially retire.
We’re incredibly grateful for the time he spent helping us and the care he provided during his time here.

Thank you for your understanding as we adjust our hours to allow Dr. Miller some much needed time for other responsibilities and commitments.

If you’ve been to Bear Lake Animal Hospital in the last several months, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Joy – and if you have, you’ve probably noticed her big smile, quiet hustle, and how she somehow manages to be everywhere at once!

Joy came to us in October 2024 from Banner County, Nebraska. Growing up with five sisters and one brother, she learned the value of hard work and helping others early on. Originally hired as an assistant, Joy quickly showed her value by stepping in wherever we’ve needed her – with zero complaints and her signature smile. She is one of those people who is constantly moving and constantly helping. She keeps your nervous pets feeling safe, the clinic spotless, our spirits high, and her quiet wit has us laughing daily.

Her love for animals and deep desire to learn more about caring for them brought her here. She was also inspired by a close family friend who is a veterinarian. She has already built up an impressive range of experiences, from working with small pets to livestock. Some of her most memorable experiences have come while assisting with c-sections on both dogs as well as cows, witnessing new life up close. She says there is nothing more rewarding than being there for pets and their people in their time of need.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her with her horses- either in the arena or riding on a trail somewhere, which is her favorite way to unwind after a busy day. Joy also enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with her dog. If that wasn’t enough talent, she also plays the guitar and piano!

Joy, you keep us all sane, smiling, and inspired. Thanks for being the rockstar you are. We wish we had ten of you – but we’ll happily take the one we’ve got!

If you have been lucky enough to meet Joy, tell us what you love about her.....
