Can we reclaim St. Patrick's day the same way we reclaimed Columbus day (now Indigenous People's day)?

Consider this my motion to amend the calendar. Anyone second me?

It would be wonderful if transitions were clean, uncomplicated affairs:
I’m done with sweets ✅ *cravings gone*
I’m totally done second-guessing myself and able to authentically express myself ✅
We elected new people who will instantly implement all their campaign promises âś…

But it doesn’t work like that does it?

Instead, it’s messy. This happens because our lives are interwoven with habits, beliefs, and the systems we’ve built around us (i.e. community, work, governance, family).

When you have an epiphany, your beliefs change, but all your habits and systems stay the same, there’s a lot of friction pushing you back into the old beliefs. And when you change your habits without updating your beliefs and systems the new habits don't stick

So what do you do when the will to change is there—when the old way has overstayed its welcome—but the new way isn’t solid yet?

That’s what we’ll be discussing Thursday, March 5th at the next Devyne Women+ Social Group gathering. We’ll share our lived experiences, glean gems of wisdom together, and I’ll share some of my favorite tips and tools for creating change that sticks without judging ourselves for the pace of change.

Then on March 14th we’ll be decorating egg-seed bombs. These beautifully decorated eggs will contain herb and flower seeds that you could crack open in your own garden or plant somewhere else (gorilla gardening anyone?).

The sneaky mindset problem behind “I deserve this.”

Oftentimes when we justify behavior we think is a treat, like buying ice cream, a new expensive sweater, or an extra hour of TV at night, it’s because part of us is rebelling against responsibility.

There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself, but we have to be aware of our motives. I use the phrase “I deserve this” as a little yellow flag to get curious. I ask myself 3 questions:

đź’«Based on previous experiences, how will my body feel?
đź’«Will I judge myself for this later (aka does it hurt my self relationship)?
đź’«What excites me about this treat?

These questions help you identify what need is actually underneath the urge to splurge.

ALL of us need a little break sometimes, in fact my inner child frequently throws tantrums about all the work she has to do. When she’s craving ice cream, (re)Heated Rivalry, and staying up late scrolling on socials I know she’s got some need I’m not meeting.

This is an invitation to pay attention to yourself because the truth is what feels like a treat is completely unique to you in each moment. Sometimes it feels like a treat that I have 2 hours free to write for my business. Other times it feels like a treat to take a nap. Sometimes it feels like a treat to go for a run. And other times it feels like a treat to sleep in an extra hour.

The name of the game is really to trust yourself and get really good at hearing the signals your body and inner child are sending you. Because you need play, just like you need everything else. And you deserve to have it. Now you just have to learn to give it to yourself.

That’s exactly what we do around here. So if you are trying to up-level your self-care and deepen your intuition you’re in the right place! Sign up for my newsletter for more tools and insights to live bravely as your authentic self.

Autoimmune disease isn’t just about inflammation—it’s about what your body has been holding for too long.

Many women are conditioned to suppress needs, smooth conflict, and carry emotional labor without rest. Over time, that suppression shows up in the body.

From a Chinese Medicine lens, chronic over-giving disrupts healthy flow and boundaries—eventually turning the immune system inward.

✨ The good news? These patterns are learned.
✨ And they can be unlearned.

This is why my work focuses on acupuncture, nervous system regulation, and boundaries—not just symptom management. That’s how I’ve helped myself and many other women manage or even resolve autoimmune symptoms.

If this resonates, I’d love to support you. DM me or schedule a free Embodiment Consultation to get started.

February 5th 7pm. Discussion topic:“ Becoming Untamed: Where Am I Still Playing Small Instead of Choosing Myself?”
Inspired by Glennon Doyle’s Untamed

Where are you still playing small instead of choosing yourself?

So many of us were taught to be good:
Nice. Helpful. Accomplished—but not too much.
Easy to be around. Low-maintenance. Grateful.
And without realizing it, we learned to absorb the friction—
in our bodies, our energy, our needs—so no one else has to feel uncomfortable.

But here’s the truth:
There’s always friction.
The question is whether it lives inside you… or whether you let it exist out in the world, where it can actually be shared, worked with, and transformed.

This week’s Devyne Women+ Social Group discussion is an invitation to explore what it might look like to stop playing small and begin choosing yourself—with more honesty, power, and self-trust.

✨ Becoming Untamed: Where Am I Still Playing Small Instead of Choosing Myself?
📍 This Thursday | 7–8pm
đź’¬ Open, supportive, come-as-you-are conversation

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to tell the truth—to yourself.

"Forgiving is not forgetting; it's actually remembering--remembering and not using your right to hit back. Its a second chance for a new beginning.

And the remembering part is particularly important. Especially if you dont want to repeat what happened."
- Desmond Tutu

I think we too often try to rush to forgiveness. But forgiveness without repair and changed behavior is a recipe for getting hurt again.

There's good information in the hurt. So instead of judging yourself for sacrificing your down time for a loved one, or skipping that morning work out, get curious.

Don't forget how sh*tty it feels to go without rest. Don't forget how bloated you feel after the junk food. But do investigate what led to that result so you can forgive yourself and plan for a different strategy.

I help women & qu**rs do just that every day: get to the bottom of what's creating their stress, low energy, and poor health.

So excited for this weekend!

Joint hypermobility can create a lot of functional issues and pain. But have you noticed these folks also are empathic, self-sacrificing, and struggle with second-guessing themselves?

That's because the same system that governs the stability of joints also governs decisive action and our ability to protect our boundaries (the Gallbladder & San Jiao).

So while acupuncture and herbs to strengthen the sinews are physically important, they aren't enough for true stability.

That's why coaching is such a powerful support for acupuncture when there's chronic joint issues.

Fibroids are often framed as something you just have to tolerate — until surgery becomes unavoidable.

But East Asian Medicine has so much to offer women’s health issues. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine can reduce fibroid size, relieve pain during in*******se and other pelvic pain from fibroids, and improve hormone balance.

I’ve seen it firsthand.

If you or someone you love is navigating fibroids or hormone-related challenges, there are options that go beyond “wait and see.”

Personally, I’d love to help you avoid a hysterectomy and all the complications for your pelvic floor and hormone levels that can create!

I love that this series is engaging in a really important conversation around masculinity.

One of Kip's central question questions is "what do I offer this relationship?" And I think it's a question a lot of men are now asking themselves when dating high-functioning financially independent women.

And it just shows how much we underestimate the importance of emotional labor and being a safe space for your partner to bring ALL the parts of themself. All the goofy, vulnerable, sexy, weird, brilliant parts of themself.

But that is a big part of our collective evolution right now: learning to be human together and put down the armor.

It is an unbelievable honor to do that work with my clients. I never get tired of being place they can learn to let their guard down 🧡

Everything changes when you realize that thing you do that you hate yourself for is actually a sign of love...

When you bite your tongue?
When you eat your feelings?
When you can't sit still until the to-do list is done?

They're all attempts to take care of yourself. These strategies were meant for survival, they were never meant to help you thrive.

To thrive you need to bring mindfulness, compassion, and productivity skills that center your joy and empower you to reclaim your life.

I help women & femmes recover after burnout and years of overfunctioning so you can create a life that feels like yours.
