Health insurance costs keep climbing, but most people only see their primary care doctor a few times a year.

I came across a calculator that compares a typical ACA insurance scenario with a Direct Primary Care model.

Using these numbers:

ACA monthly premium: $500
Primary care visit cost: $50
4 visits per year

Compared with:

Direct Primary Care membership: $125 per month
Wrap or healthshare coverage: $150 per month

The estimated monthly cost comes out to:

ACA plan: $517/month
DPC + wrap coverage: $275/month

That’s a difference of $242 per month, or about $2,900 per year.

Honored to be featured in today’s Montrose Daily Press sharing why I started Montrose Direct Primary Care and what this clinic is all about. After years in traditional medicine, I wanted to build a practice that puts time, relationships, and real access back at the center of care.

At Montrose Direct Primary Care, patients get longer visits, same or next day access when possible, direct communication with me, and a focus on actually improving health not just writing prescriptions and rushing to the next patient.

The clinic is located at 16 S Cascade Ave in downtown Montrose and officially opens February 2. We’re also hosting an open house this Saturday January 31 from 2 to 4 pm. Stop by, see the space, ask questions, and meet me in person.
