Heather was nominated by Jon, one of her patients. Because of Heather’s consistent encouragement and evidence-based interventions, Jon has achieved meaningful milestones in his therapy. He also recognized her positive attitude, sharing that she maintains an upbeat demeanor even on stressful days, lifting morale for both patients and staff.

Montrose Regional Health will celebrate National Nutrition Month® in March with special menu offerings and educational initiatives highlighting the importance of healthy eating and physical activity.

National Nutrition Month, established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is an annual campaign focused on focused on promoting informed food choices and active lifestyles. To support the 2026 theme, “Discover the Power of Nutrition,” Montrose Regional Health’s Nutrition & Diabetes Services and the Lobby Grille will offer special meals and educational events throughout March. Community members are invited to dine at the Lobby Grille and take part in the celebration.

The Montrose Regional Health (MRH) Sleep Clinic, located at 900 S. Fourth St., continues to expand access to specialized sleep care for patients across the Western Slope.

Paula Morgan, a nurse practitioner, joined MRH on Feb. 27, 2026. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Science from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds Basic Life Support certification. Morgan brings 12 years of experience in sleep medicine and will work alongside Dr. Gilbert and Dr. Salem to support growing demand for sleep medicine services in the region.

Montrose Regional Health (MRH) is highlighting the importance of screening and prevention during Colore**al Cancer Awareness Month in March. The annual observance aims to educate the public that colore**al cancer is preventable, treatable, and often beatable through regular screening.

Colore**al cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-related death in men younger than 50 and the second-leading cause in women younger than 50. In 2026, an estimated 158,850 new cases of colon and re**al cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the United States, including approximately 108,860 cases of colon cancer and 49,990 cases of re**al cancer.

Willis is one of our furry friends from Morning Star Therapy Dogs and has been volunteering with us for nearly a year. Since 2003, Morning Star Therapy Dogs has been proudly serving our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for A Celebration of the Heart Concert at the Montrose Pavilion on February 14. It was a wonderful evening filled with music, community, and support for heart health.

We are so grateful to Mixed Bag Jazz Amy Owens, and Vasil Garvanliev for sharing their incredible talent and making the night truly unforgettable.

Montrose Regional Health (MRH) has completed construction on the playground at River Landing, an inclusive, all-access space designed to provide safe, engaging play opportunities for children of all ages and ability levels.

The playground was developed in response to a lack of truly accessible play equipment in the Montrose area and is located adjacent to Montrose Regional Health’s Ambulatory Care Center at 3330 S. Rio Grande Ave. The thoughtfully designed space allows toddlers through older children to play together in a safe, welcoming environment.
