Moonachie First Aid and Rescue Squad is a non profit volunteer organization. The Squad is dedicated to providing First aid, rescue, and rehab to the borough of Moonachie, its residents and businesses. The Squad also provides these services to surrounding towns when the need arrises. We are very proud to announce that we have provided this professional and timely care for over a decade with out missing a call. The squad consists of over 80 members operate six specialty vehicles, one amphibious vehicle, and two boats all of which are equipped with first aid and rescue supplies.

A busy Weekend for the Members of the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad. Saturday Morning was the Borough of Moonachie Ragamuffin Parade & Trunk or Treat held at the Robert L. Craig School. During the Trunk or Treat a child had a medical emergency and was treated by Squad Members and did not require transport and was turned over to his parents. In the afternoon, the Squad participated the Memorial School Trunk or Treat in the Township of South Hackensack. Later that Evening, Rescue 2 assisted Bogota standing by at a fireworks display held at Olsen Park. During the standby Rescue 1 handled a Mutual Aid call. This Morning Rescue 7 assisted Bogota with a 5K Run. Thank You to all our Dedicated Members who covered this busy weekend both in and out of town.

Response at 06:00 to 94 Moonachie Road for an overturned Box Truck. Rescue 5 responded & the driver had self extricated upon Squad arrival. The driver was evaluated and signed a RMA on scene.

Update from yesterday’s Fire, from Moonachie Police Department

Please read the attached press release from the desk of Chief Behrens.

We would also like to commend the response by the Moonachie Fire Department, Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad and all mutual aid agencies. The heroic actions of all first responders protected additional homes from being damaged and saved many lives.

Unfortunately, prior to the arrival of all first responders there was one deceased resident.

Response on Monday, September 8 at 16:54 with Moonachie Fire Department to 14 West 6th Street for a working trailer fire. All 5 Ambulances, Rescue 1, Rescue 2, Rescue 4, Rescue 5, & Rescue 7 responded. Upon arrival of the first due Ambulance, Rescue 5 Crew was tasked with treating a patient from a neighboring trailer who was later transported to Hackensack Meridian. Rehab was set up down the block from the fire scene with the rest of the manpower on scene. At 18:13 Rescue 4 responded to a medical emergency in the borough from the fire scene. All EMS Equipment was released from the fire scene at 23:00.

A busy day for the Members of the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad. This morning at 07:45 we were dispatched to 100 Moonachie Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Crash. Rescue 5 responded and transported one patient to HUMC & also obtained a signed RMA. Rescue 1 is currently providing EMS coverage at MetLife Stadium for the System of a Down Concert. Finally Rescue 2, Rescue 7 & Rehab Rescue 3 stood by while Moonachie Fire Department drilled on hose operations.

Tonight under the observation of the Squad Lieutenants, our New Members had a training session on Carol Place while the Moonachie Fire Department drilled on Ladders. Our Members set up our Rehab Equipment practicing a simulated Fire Scene.

Tonight the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad participated in National Night Out in the South Hackensack Township NJ. Our Officers & Members displayed our Equipment, Ambulances & Rehab Unit. We also had free giveaways. The Squad would like to say Thank You to South Hackensack Police Department for having us.
