MANY ATHLETES ARE LEAKING ENERGY?!? 🤔👀😱🤯

Think of a car leaking fluid and oil. How efficient is that car when it comes to performance?

Now think of an athlete that doesn’t have a sense of balance, coordination, or skill. How much “extra” action is occurring in order to achieve a certain outcome when those properties are not present? What is that costing the body in terms of energy?

Now, take an athlete who does have a better amount of those characteristics but doesn’t train properly. Most likely he or she probably overtrains. Whether under or overtraining, it can lead to conditions such as tendinitis or tendonopathy.

This is where SPECIFIC training can come into play. To help avoid overuse injuries such as tendinitis, isometric strength training can be your optimal choice.

Isometrics fosters tendon stiffness. This is a condition where the tendon becomes more dense, resistant to stretch and acts like a steel cable for muscles. The short description for the benefits of this are improved performance along with resistance to fatigue and overuse injuries.

If lax, tendons will stretch more and there can be a delay in action (e.g. starting and stopping - some call that COD or change of direction - jumping and walking or running (more time with the foot on the ground can be a sign of fatigue) . These are conditions, whether you play sports or not, you don’t want. ❌.

Though muscles can still develop, without strong tendons to match, there are higher chances of experiencing excessive inflammation at the joints along with the conditions listed directly above. This would explain why your 600 lb squatter had trouble going up and down stairs. If there is “lag time” how stable are those joints? 🤔

This is an often missed component to the overall training and conditioning. This is why we focus so strongly on this. Muscles can develop faster than tendons. You need both to be strong in order to be optimized for performance.

Why are dedicated to way we do things. Prevention is much more affordable than reaction. Though no system or method is 100% full proof, we are dedicated to examining the individual and design a plan from there. Even in a group setting, individuals should know how to operate within his/her own means.

There are too many PREVENTABLE injuries occurring. Many due to ego or overtraining via multiple team participation (school / club) + lack of rest and nutrition.
