🔆Happy World Kindness Day🔆

Everyday acts of kindness:
✅Offer a compliment: Give a genuine compliment to a stranger, colleague, or friend.
✅Be a good neighbor: Help a neighbor with their groceries
✅Help someone in line: Let someone go ahead of you in a checkout line or at a busy intersection. (LOUDER for the folks on Highway 150) 🤭
✅Hold the door: Hold the door open for someone, especially if they are carrying items or a stroller.
✅Listen actively: Offer a listening ear to a friend or colleague who is having a bad day.

If you have time to plan try one of these:
👕Donate to a cause you care about or donate items like books or clothes
📦Volunteer your time to a local organization, such as a homeless shelter, animal shelter, or community center
🍎Organize a drive for food or other essential supplies
✉️Send a letter to someone to let them know you're thinking of them
🪥Create a blessings bag of essentials or comfort items for someone who needs it

🧠 Mindset Reset 💡
Replace "I have to" with "I get to". Gratitude softens stress.

Gratitude softens stress by activating the body's "rest and repair" system, which lowers stress hormones like cortisol, and by releasing "feel-good" hormones like dopamine and serotonin. This can lead to better sleep, a stronger immune system, improved mood, and increased resilience to challenges.

Supporting Someone in Crisis 💜

If someone confides suicidal thoughts or crisis, here’s what to do:

✔ Stay calm, listen without judgment
✔ Ask direct questions (“Are you thinking of harming yourself?”)
✔ Don’t promise secrecy — connect to help
✔ Encourage them to reach crisis lines 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline or professional help
✔ Follow up — your caring presence matters 🫶

You don’t need to be a mental health expert — offering presence, care, and connecting to help is powerful.

💡 Did you know: overly low fat or overly low carb diets can both have negative effects on mood and cognition. 😕

🧩 Balance tip: Aim for protein + fiber + healthy fats + some carbs each meal to stabilize blood sugar and sustain brain energy.

Don’t skip breakfast (or delay too long) — your brain needs fuel. Consider pairing protein + whole carbs + fruit or veggie.
