Minnesota moms… are we really okay?! 😅

Yesterday: sunshine, fresh air, happy kids, vitamin D, life feels GOOD.
Today: why does it feel like winter is back and personally attacking us??

I cannot keep rotating six kids’ wardrobes every 24 hours. I simply can’t.
Snow pants? Shorts? Sweatshirts? ALL OF IT??

Also… can we talk about how much this weather messes with everyone’s mood?
Because when we can’t get outside, everyone feels it—kids, moms, babies… all of us.

🫶🏽 Lactation care isn’t crisis care. It’s PREVENTATIVE care!

So many families wait until there’s pain, low supply, or weight concerns to reach out, but most of the challenges I see are things we can prevent with consistent support.

60–70% of my clients continue seeing me all the way through weaning. Not because something is wrong, but because babies are constantly changing.

Growth spurts. Returning to work. Pump adjustments. Hormones shifting. Starting solids. Teething. Sleep changes.

When we check in monthly, we adjust before things feel overwhelming. We protect supply. We troubleshoot pumping. We support YOUR (ever-changing) goals!

And weaning? That deserves intention and support too.

Breastfeeding support isn’t just about fixing problems.
It’s about staying ahead of them. 💛

Bottle refusal is not your fault!
And it’s not something your baby is doing on purpose.

Infants don’t have the ability to be “stubborn” or “defiant” with feeding. What looks like bottle “refusal” is almost always about oral anatomy + function, not a parent doing something wrong.

Breastfeeding is a skill.
Bottle feeding is a skill.

When a baby struggles with a bottle, our job isn’t to force it, it’s to figure out which part of the feeding process is hard and support them in gaining those skills so feeding can feel safe and successful.

I’m currently working with several families navigating bottle refusal, and I promise: there is a why, and there is help. 🤍

You’re not failing.
Your baby isn’t refusing you.
They’re just asking for support in the only way they know how.
