This week’s Who We Are Wednesday, we are featuring Kim, our Revenue Cycle Manager based out of our Moorhead office. Kim has been with CHSI since 2011, starting in a two week part time temporary position focused on billing.

In June 2011, Kim moved into a full time role as a Billing Assistant. She then spent the next three to four years as a Coding and Billing Assistant before stepping into her current role as Revenue Cycle Manager.

In her role, Kim serves as the main contact for billing companies and insurance providers when questions arise. She manages patient payment deposits, resolves claim issues, and handles many behind the scenes processes that keep our clinics running smoothly.

Kim’s favorite part about working at CHSI is helping people. She loves seeing how we expand access to care and truly live out the belief that healthcare is a right, and that we serve anyone who walks through our doors.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and playing card and board games together.

Looking for a meaningful new opportunity in the new year? Consider joining our Board!

We’re seeking community-minded individuals who are passionate about health equity and who may have lived experience as migrant or seasonal workers, immigrants, or Medicaid/Medicare recipients in Greater Minnesota. With remote meetings, participation is accessible no matter where you’re located.

We also encourage applicants from outstate Minnesota with legal or HR experience who are interested in using their skills to make a real impact.

After a break last week for the holidays, we’re excited to share this week’s Who We Are feature. Meet Lilli!

Lilli has been part of the CHSI team since 2014, almost 12 years. She originally joined us as a temporary hire and was later invited back as outreach and enrollment staff, eventually stepping into a bilingual health outreach role. In 2021, Lilli transitioned to billing and has supported many areas across CHSI, including working at the front of the call center.

Most recently, Lilli decided to apply for the MA apprenticeship program and has been spending more time on the clinical side of our work. She helps with room turnover, taking vitals, front desk support, and ensuring smooth clinical flow at our Grafton clinic.

Lilli loves the work CHSI does because she values helping people who may not be able to access care elsewhere and being part of a cost-effective resource for the community. Outside of work, Lilli is a homebody who enjoys watching movies with her kids.

Many people do not realize the full scope of care community health centers provide. Beyond medical visits, we offer wraparound support that meets patients where they are.

Recently, a pregnant patient who was new to the area came to CHSI with limited support and complex needs. Through our team-based care approach, she was connected to prenatal care and supported by care coordination staff who helped her navigate insurance, housing assistance, and nutrition support.

Our team also partnered closely with community organizations to connect her to safety resources, employment support, and basic needs assistance for both the parent and baby. Because of the complexity of her pregnancy, she was connected to postpartum home visiting services and ongoing behavioral health care to support her overall wellbeing.

We are proud to share that she delivered a healthy baby and continues to receive care and support through CHSI and our community partners.

Stories like this reflect the power of integrated, compassionate care and why community health centers matter. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to Second Harvest Heartland and General Mills for this generous food donation during the holiday week.

Over the past year, our Willmar site has proudly partnered with Second Harvest Heartland to become a food distributor for our patients, helping ensure access to nutritious food when it is needed most. Recently, we received five pallets of food after being selected through Second Harvest Heartland for a special donation from General Mills.

Our Willmar team, along with staff across all of our clinic locations, works hard every day to support the whole person, and access to food is a critical part of that care. Thank you to both organizations for helping us better meet the needs of our community and the people we serve. 💙
