Today we played bingo, enjoyed lots of Christmas goodies, and celebrated with our resident Christmas party—where the residents made out like bandits and indulged in even more snacks!🎁🍪

So many thank yous to give, and not nearly enough words to express our gratitude. The amount of love our residents have received from our community—and even surrounding communities—has been absolutely unreal. I truly cannot thank you enough for thinking of us this Christmas season.

Our residents absolutely love Christmas, and they love hearing how many of you are touched simply by seeing photos of them smiling and laughing. They feel important. They feel special. But most importantly, they feel deeply loved by all of you this holiday season.

This may be my first holiday season here with them, but in just the last four to five months they have taught me so many lessons. Today, I have been a barrel of tears—tears of pure joy—seeing just how much love surrounds them. It has truly been an honor serving our residents and helping so many of you share in this season of giving.

We may have failed at taking pictures, but we definitely succeeded at having a great time!🚂☕
Today, your favorites at Moran Manor boarded the Polar Express and enjoyed some warm hot chocolate. This morning, they cashed in the tickets they earned from each activity they participated in and picked out some really wonderful gifts. Smiles, laughter, and Christmas magic filled the day!🎄✨

Wowee! We had such a busy, fun-filled day today! This morning we made gingerbread houses together, and while it started out as a competition, we quickly realized we enjoyed helping one another far too much to compete—and the final gingerbread house turned out absolutely adorable! We were then blessed by Bert leading us in Bible study and sharing a truly beautiful message. We wrapped up our joyful day by singing Christmas songs with Lynn Oliphant, filling the room with holiday cheer and happy hearts.🎄✨

Dimension of Wellness: Social

Activity: Gingerbread House Competition

Story: Our gingerbread house activity brought out creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly competition as everyone designed, decorated, and proudly showed off their creations. Residents shared ideas, helped one another, and cheered each other on, filling the room with conversation and connection. This activity beautifully supported social wellness as part of our Flourish Wellness program, encouraging meaningful interaction, relationship-building, and a sense of belonging—all while having fun and celebrating the season together.

Again, not enough pictures to compare to the amount of activities and fun we packed into today! We kicked off the morning with a magic trick that was “doodly” fantastic✨ then headed into the Activities Office for beauty shop—because while I may not be a rocket scientist, I do know my way around a curler and a fresh coat of nail polish💅🏼 This afternoon brought a lively round of Christmas Guess What, and we wrapped up the day with our newspaper club full of creativity and smiles!

What a day! This morning our residents relaxed with story time from their favorite activity director, and our afternoon was filled with baking Christmas cookies—and only a few were eaten before they were decorated😜
We shared sweet moments together swapping our favorite Christmas traditions and memories while we decorated. Days like this remind us just how special this season truly is.❤️✨

After that, we put our Christmas knowledge to the test with a lively round of trivia, and wrapped up our afternoon gathered together for bible study. Activity: Snowman Ornaments

Story: Today, our community tapped into the heart of Intellectual Wellness by diving into a hands-on project that encouraged creativity, focus, and a little festive imagination. With tables full of bright pom-poms, colorful pipe cleaners, and snow-white ornaments waiting to come to life, our residents gathered together and let their minds explore.

As everyone settled in, the room filled with thoughtful concentration and lighthearted conversation. Some compared ideas, others experimented with new designs, and a few laughed as their snowmen slowly took on their own charming personalities. Each ornament became a tiny reflection of its creator—playful, cheerful, and lovingly detailed.

Activities like this do more than fill the afternoon. They spark curiosity, strengthen cognitive skills, and offer moments of shared joy. Watching our residents bring their snowman ornaments to life was a beautiful reminder that learning, imagining, and creating never have an age limit.
