Excited to be sharing this information with a new group of students. Bringing to life the weaving of body-mind integration is truly the magic of healing, and first, we heal the healers.

I designed this as a self-care course because I know most therapists don’t take care of themselves. Even in the search for CE’s it’s usually the next modality or the trending bodywork that will bring clients… and they fail to see the connection of their own self-care and how it translates to their clients.

This course is a bridge to both. The experiencing of the profound changes within self and the understanding of how you can use it with clients to create more impactful, lasting change. It’s a living practice that invites you to slow waaaayyyyy down and approach with curiosity. It deepens your listening of the body and integrates movement repatterning for pain relief. It’s healing through ease instead of force.

I’m so grateful to the teachers that paved the way for this wisdom, Moshe Feldenkrais, Thomas Hanna, Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, James Knight, Arielle Schwartz, all of whom made a lasting impact on my work. 🙏🏼

This is just the beginning. I’m looking forward to revealing the bodywork portion in 2026!

When we neglect the pieces of us that is part of our wholeness, we miss the very thing needed for integration.

I don’t care how skilled and talented you are in clinical techniques, without the embodied integration through holding space for the spiritual connection, it will always be lacking.

Massage came from indigenous practices and it would serve practitioners to honor that and recognize the importance of keeping it holistic- mind, body, spirit & heart.

When words fall short, compassion speaks through hands. 💙
Together, we’re making being sick suck less.

The purpose of somatic trauma healing is not calmness, it’s actually connection. The ability to have dual awareness and recognize the trigger, the response, and the part of you recognizing these things so that you can both feel this and also find safety within.
That is the healing.

Honoring our Indigenous brothers & sisters today. 🙏🏼
This is healing generational trauma.
This is a step of repair.

Healing occurs when you allow yourself to recognize the deep generational trauma and make the choices necessary to help.

For me, that looked like learning and preserving practices taught to me by Elders. Remembering the truth that we are all connected. Living in reciprocity and teaching others the same. Being a safe space, a friend, and a sister to those in need. Healing the shame from the atrocities that occurred by ancestors and yet recognizing we are all connected by our most ancient ancestors.

If there’s only 1 thing you can do today to honor the Indigenous peoples let it be looking up the tribes that were the original settlers of the land you currently live. Learn about them. Have a moment of your own lineages reconciliation for generational healing. Be a part of the bridge forward.

We have a local pow wow coming up in November. Go and support them. 🫶🏼

Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day in North Carolina.

Observed on the second Monday in October, this day honors the perseverance, cultures, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous peoples.

Indigenous communities are not just part of North Carolina’s history; they are an essential part of its present and future.

Our state is home to more than 130,000 American Indians representing eight state-recognized tribes: Coharie, Eastern Band of Cherokee, Haliwa-Saponi, Lumbee, Meherrin, Occaneechi Band of Saponi, Sappony, and Waccamaw Siouan.

Today and every day, we honor their living traditions, leadership, and the strength that continues to shape North Carolina’s story.

Western medicine loves to piece and part us out, as if the body were made of separate structures instead of one beautifully interconnected system. But it’s not.

This is why a holistic understanding of the body is always at the forefront of my work.

Most clients who come to me for pain relief share the same story:
They’ve been dismissed.
Told it’s “just in their head.”
Given medication or a quick-fix treatment that never lasts and is just a band-aid approach.

But pain is never random.
It’s communication.
And when we approach the body as an integrated system, not a collection of isolated parts, we can finally get to the root of what’s going on.

As someone who’s completed extensive medical and orthopedic massage trainings, I can tell you the one thing most of them overlook is fascia! The connective tissue web that literally holds our entire structure (and story) together.

Fascia links everything: muscles, bones, organs, even emotions, into one living, breathing network. When one area is restricted, the whole system is affected.

Take my own experience with plantar fasciitis.
Many practitioners immediately focus on the bottom of the foot or calf. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But fascia doesn’t work in isolation, it’s part of a continuous chain that runs from the sole of the foot, up through the hamstrings, into the hips, the lumbar spine and all the way to the head!

In my case, the true source wasn’t my foot at all, and it wasn’t my calf, it was in my hip and lumbar aponeurosis. Once that deeper fascial restriction was addressed, the relief finally began to last but it means having to recognize pain doesn’t always come from location it’s being felt.

This is why education matters, I mean real education that teaches us how the body actually works, how to listen, and how to approach it as an intelligent, connected system.

For clients, this means finding lasting relief instead of temporary fixes.
For therapists, this means becoming the kind of practitioner whose touch changes everything because you’re not just working on the body, you’re working with it. 🙌🏼

That’s the essence of somatic bodywork, honoring the intelligence of the fascia, the nervous system, and the soul that lives inside it all. It makes you magic as a therapist and that’s why my clients love me, and therapists understand the power of what’s revealed inside my Somatic Reset workshops.

Join me in the next upcoming workshop November 9th 1-5pm. CE’s available for LMBT’s and this class is also open to the public. Limited space available.

Typical massage sessions can only go so far. There, I said it.
If you’ve been with me for a while, you already know, I don’t do “boxed in.”

That’s why Somatic Reset Bodywork goes deeper. It’s not just about easing sore muscles, it’s about reconnecting you with your body in a way that feels alive, whole, and free.

In these sessions, we gently unwind the layers of tension, stuck emotions, and old patterns that have kept you feeling disconnected or trapped. What emerges is a sense of spaciousness: lighter, more grounded, more you.

This is the work I love, supporting your nervous system in finding its rhythm again, and guiding you back to the freedom of feeling at home in your own body. It warms my heart that so many of you feel the difference too and my schedule shows it! Thank you!

There's still some appointments left for October, but you better snag them while they are there! www.SomaPsycheSoul.com

It can be so hard to trust your inner voice.

We live in a society that teaches us to question, doubt, blame, and look everywhere but inward. And yet the voice within is always there, whispering above the noise, even when it feels impossible to hear.

Lately, in my own medical journey, I’ve felt what so many of my clients share with me: the frustration of not being heard.

I can feel the twist in my hip, the anterior pelvic tilt pulling just on the right side. I notice the sacroiliac joint pinching, the fascia tightening, even the leg length discrepancy from that “dropped” hip. But instead of looking there, providers kept focusing on my calf and foot 🤦🏻‍♀️the areas that only hurt because of the underlying hip issue. No amount of work on my foot is going to change what’s happening in my hip because it’s not the root cause.

And that’s the problem. Too often, the deeper truth in our bodies is dismissed. Our voices go unheard.

That’s why having a trauma-informed practice matters so much to me. To listen. To honor your lived experience. To reinforce your sense of self-trust and agency. To empower you in your healing, because you are the one with the front row seat to the wisdom of your body.

✨ If you’re craving care that truly listens and helps you reconnect with your body’s inner knowing, I invite you to book a Somatic Bodywork session with me at Soma Psyche Soul. If you’re a bodyworker and want to learn how to address the root cause better, check out our CE page.

Your body already knows the way. Let’s listen together.
