💚 One Year Ago, I Took a Leap

One year ago, I turned the key, took a deep breath, and opened the doors to Morehead City Functional Wellness.

As a traditionally trained physician, I had spent years in hospital medicine, helping people in crisis but always wishing I had more time — time to listen, to dig deeper, to truly help patients heal, not just stabilize. I wanted to practice medicine differently — to combine science with compassion and empower people to understand their own bodies again.

It’s been a year of hard work, growth, and so many moments that have filled me with gratitude.

I’ve watched patients find energy again after years of fatigue.
I’ve seen women regain confidence through functional medicine testing, balanced hormones, and renewed strength from early Emsculpt NEO transformations.
I’ve watched lab results shift, inflammation drop, and hope return.

There have been challenges — long days, financial hurdles, and more learning curves than I could count — but every single success story has reminded me why I took this leap.

This year has also been one of personal reflection and healing. Losing a few of my beloved pets along the way was hard, but the routine of caring for others — and for Finnegan, who’s been with me through it all — reminded me daily of resilience, gratitude, and grace.
