Ernest Aaron Gaspard, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the age of 77.

The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 9am until time of services which will begin promptly at 1pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, Ernest will be laid to rest in the Belle River Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Belle River. Pastor and Friend, Jerry Jett will preside over the services.

Valane Ann Solar, a native and longtime resident of Morgan City, was unexpected called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the age of 59.

Family, Friends and members of the community are invited to attend the visitation for Valane on Monday, December 22, 2025 beginning at 11:00am until service time, which is at 1:00pm, at Hargrave Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

This past Tuesday, we were honored to host our 2025 Christmas Memorial and Meal. Families we served over the past year were mailed an invitation, and we also welcomed anyone in our community who is grieving a loss, past or present, to join us,.

At 6:00 p.m., we gathered for a short memorial service centered around this year’s theme of light, inspired by the quote: “There are some who bring a light so bright into the world that even after they are gone, the light remains.”

The service included meaningful Christmas music that reflected the theme, a candlelight moment of remembrance, and the sharing of a keepsake ornament for each attendee who has experienced loss, bearing this year’s quote as a reminder that their loved one’s light continues to shine.

Following the memorial, everyone in attendance was treated to a delicious meal catered by Special Times Catering. It was a time of fellowship as our staff, their families, and the community we are honored to serve came together to close the evening with warmth and support.

It was truly a beautiful and meaningful moment, and an honor to provide this gathering—to remind our families that they are not alone, and that their loved one’s legacy remains in our hearts long after services are completed.
