With the birth of my second son at a local hospital, in the middle of a large Covid spike (January 2021), a Lacation consultant visited me once in the hospital…. And that was it. Once home, and struggling with my son latching and worried about my milk supply (like so many moms worry), I called over a dozen times, getting transferred around, only to learn that no outpatient lactation support was available. No lactation support groups were meeting. Outpatient lactation support seemed to be another Covid casualty. In a time that one could argue, breastfeeding is even more important to provide our infants with extra immune support, it felt nearly impossible to get the help I needed. Tired, stressed, but determined, I traveled an hour from Morgan Hill to Salinas, with my newborn in tow, to get some in-person lactation support. My tired mom brain thought, this is ridiculous! Moms who want to breastfeed, need local support.
As a Registered Dietitian with 12 years of experience and as an experience NICU Registered Dietitian, I knew I needed to help Morgan Hill moms who want to breastfeed their babies.
I am available for in-home Lacation consultations or video consultations. What you will receive is compassionate, knowledgeable care from a mom of two. I listen to your goals, help you troubleshoot any barriers, and provide continued follow up for as long as you need.
