At Morgan Hill Speech, we believe that every child deserves a voice — and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is one of the many ways we help make that possible. AAC includes a wide range of tools and strategies, from picture boards and sign language to high-tech speech-generating devices.

These supports can open up new opportunities for children who have difficulty using verbal speech, allowing them to express their thoughts, make choices, and connect with others in meaningful ways. Our therapists work closely with each child to find the communication method that best fits their needs and helps them feel confident in their ability to communicate!

We’re proud to support AAC users and their families every day, because communication should always be accessible to everyone. 💙

This week, our team refreshed our CPR and choking response training. Whether working with children or adults, unexpected emergencies can happen, and being prepared is key! 🙌🙌

That’s why we prioritize keeping our training up to date—so we can respond quickly, confidently, and safely. Regular refreshers ensure our clinic remains a place of not only care and growth, but also security and preparedness! 🫶🏼

Interested in getting certified yourself? You can get CPR and choking response certified through several organizations depending on your community! ⬇️

🌟 American Red Cross – They offer in-person and blended online/in-person classes across the country. Many locations even tailor classes to child care providers, educators, and health professionals.

🌟 American Heart Association (AHA) – Known for their Heartsaver and Basic Life Support courses, which are widely accepted in schools, clinics, and workplaces.

🌟 YMCA or community centers – Many YMCAs run CPR certification courses, often at more flexible times and family-friendly pricing.
