Hello everyone!!

We have very exciting, long awaited news!!

Morgan Drug will OFFICIALLY REOPEN on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17‼️‼️

Jonny and his team have been working very hard to get things ready, and it hasn’t been without setbacks and difficulties. It’s truly remarkable to see his work ethic and his commitment to getting the pharmacy open and delivering good quality care. He has been so helpful, and we really can’t thank him enough for this transition during such a difficult few months for our family. We have no doubt he will extend that love and service to you guys!!

With this news of the pharmacy reopening, I will officially be handing the Morgan Drug and Gift page over to Jonny and his team.

From Michele, Cam, and the entire Smith family, it truly has been a privilege to serve all of you. We couldn’t have asked for a better community to surround us in moving forward after the loss of Justin. It’s surreal that this page of our lives is turning. We will miss seeing all of you regularly, but don’t worry, we plan on continuing to fill our own prescriptions up there when we can, so you’ll see us in passing! ❤️

We’ll leave you guys with this special photo from Justin’s funeral in July. If there were a picture that spoke 1000 words, this would be the one. This was taken as we all left the cemetery, all of the things he loved the most in one picture: his son Cam riding his Harley, his Son Caden and Wife Lynzee driving his Challenger with his wife Michele and daughter Mykelle in the back seat, and his son Brennan and wife Beth driving his truck. And of course, a Utah Utes wreath of flowers. All of the love, hobbies, and things he left behind, going on to spread his love and legacy onto others. With the pharmacy having been in the family for 2 generations, it’s hard to watch it go, but we plan on continuing to spread the love and service that our father and grandfather shared in that pharmacy for all these years. We love you all and hope to see you around. ❤️

Hello everyone! This is Cam. We have some exciting news to share!!

I’m sure whispers have been going around regarding the pharmacy. We’re here to confirm that we came to an agreement with a buyer this week and the pharmacy has been sold!!

It’s very bittersweet for us to see the pharmacy go after all these years. However, we are VERY confident that Jonny Mears, the new owner, will take phenomenal care of you guys. He has been very gracious, giving and supportive through this whole process. He currently owns his own pharmacy in Farmington (Mears Pharmacy) and people rave about him. In our interactions, he has expressed that he is determined to carry on the legacy that Justin and Merle built at Morgan Drug, and we are very confident he will do that.

Details on opening and new hours will follow in the coming weeks. We deeply hope you support him and return your business. We can’t wait to see you guys again! ❤️

Good morning everyone.

We wanted to express our gratitude for the generosity we witnessed yesterday at the store. To all of you who came in and bought things to help clear out inventory before we closed, we can’t thank you enough. ❤️ This community continues to show us how special it is. ❤️

Yesterday was the last day we will be open. Many have asked what will happen to the pharmacy. As we have talked with our family, we have decided that we will be selling the store and the building. We are not sure if it will be sold and be reopened as a pharmacy under different ownership or if a new business will be opened there, but whatever happens next, the Smith family will not be the owners.

As we close this chapter, we can’t thank you all enough for the many memories, well wishes, laughs, and acts of love we’ve felt during this difficult time and over the years. From Merle to Justin to Michele and Cam, we are so grateful that serving such an amazing community for 60+ years was a family affair. We love you all! ❤️

Good morning everyone.

The drug store will be open both Wednesday and Thursday this week, the 9th and the 10th. Same deal as last week, we will be transferring prescriptions and selling the ones that have already been filled. If there is a medication in stock, we can do one last refill and then have the prescription transferred. We will not be doing any more medication ordering, so once the med is out of stock, it is gone for good. Thank you for all the help and patience ❤️

There will be a viewing for Justin on Sunday, July 6th from 6-8PM at Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden. The funeral services will be on Monday, July 7th at 11 AM, with a viewing before from 9:30-10:30 AM. The services will be livestreamed on Monday through the obituary posted below. (Instructions are at the bottom of the obituary page).

Update on this week’s schedule:

We will be open for both Tuesday, July 1st and Thursday, July 3rd this week.

If you didn’t see our previous message, we will not be filling any new prescriptions or refilling any prescriptions that weren’t filled before Justin’s accident. Anything that needs to be refilled or filled as a new prescription will need to be transferred to a pharmacy or your choice. If you have something that was filled and sitting on the shelf from before the accident, we will be selling those if you would like to come pick them up. We will not be doing any future ordering of medications.

We know you understand, but we still please ask that you be patient and kind to the staff that will be there helping out this week and in the coming weeks. Many of them are grieving just as hard as we are and are doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. They have promised to work as hard as possible for you guys. If, for whatever reason, you aren’t able to get medications transferred in our hours, please call your doctors office and they can help call the prescriptions into the pharmacy of your choosing.

We are meeting with the mortuary this afternoon to get funeral arrangements planned, and plans will be shared as soon as we have them. Again, we are so grateful for your support ❤️

🚨IF YOU ARE WONDERING HOW TO GET YOUR MEDICATIONS, PLEASE READ🚨

Hello everybody.

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, this is Cam, Justin’s son.

We are humbled and beyond grateful for the countless messages, phone calls, hugs, meals, signs on the doors of the pharmacy, and offers for help run the store in trying to navigate this. Words genuinely can’t come close to expressing how it has made us feel. ❤️

To say we’re heartbroken is an understatement. My mom Michele, sister Mykelle, brother Caden, and Brother Brennan are staying strong, but as you can imagine, it’s been extremely difficult. We loved our dad so much. We know it’s just the beginning of a long road, but it’s already very apparent the hole that this has left in our family. Not only in the family, it’s been very prevalent the hole that Justin’s passing will leave in the community of Morgan County.

It’s been a blessing to serve our friends, family, and neighbors in Morgan, Mountain Green, Henefer and Coalville over these years. My Grandpa and Dad devoted so many years of their lives to serving this community. We continually hear stories about how my dad went out of his way to get prescriptions to people when they needed them, whether by delivery, helping pay for medications, spotting people some OTC meds, or helping answer questions. I wish you could see the sacrifices he made behind the scenes to make sure his customers were taken care of in times of need, as well as his employees.

We know we’ve had a tough few years of various closures and unexpected days off. Tough things were going on behind the scenes in Justin’s personal life, but we worked hard and never gave up. Because of that, me and my mom can confidently and genuinely say that the last 2-3 months of our life here on earth with him were the best months we’ve ever had with him. He was so happy, which makes it all that much harder to see him leave us so unexpectedly.

We love you all so much, and we know we aren’t alone. We’re going to get through this. However, we also understand that with this unexpected tragedy, the future of Morgan Drug is unexpected. As we’ve talked over what to do going forward, we are going to open for a few days a week over the next 2-3 weeks. We will post a schedule on here when we have it finalized, but we’re taking it a week at a time.


During these few days of being open, we will not be filling new prescriptions. We will be selling the prescriptions that are currently filled and sitting on our shelf to customers, while anything else that isn’t currently filled will need to be transferred. If you need your prescriptions transferred, please be prepared to call us or come into the store with the info of the pharmacy you would like your medications transferred to. Please be patient with us, as this will be a long and tedious process. We are so sad to have to do this, but we feel it’s the best thing to do in order to assure you have future access to your medications while we figure out our future.

We love you all very much, and hope we can help as much as possible in this change. While we do it, all we ask is that you spread the spirit of service that my Dad worked so hard to spread over his many years working at the pharmacy. We will post both store schedule and funeral details in the coming days. Thank you for your support. ❤️

Justin has a routine medical procedure this Wednesday and he needs to prep for it starting tomorrow mid-day. Therefore, we will be open in the morning of TUESDAY from 9-11:30 AM. We will be open normal hours on Wednesday and the rest of the week 😊

Hello everyone!!

Just getting some weekend schedule plans out early for you guys to plan for. We will be CLOSING AT 4 PM on FRIDAY the 23RD. We will also be closed for Memorial Day. We will be back with normal hours on Tuesday, May 27TH.

Please plan accordingly as Justin and his family will be going out of town and won’t be able to get emergency meds to anyone over the weekend. Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!! 🇺🇸😊
