On the twelfth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… twelve drummers drumming 🥁 and a holiday circuit!

Dr. Trevor demonstrates a 12-exercise at-home circuit focused on functional strength, endurance, and safe movement for all levels.

Day 12 Challenge: Take a moment to write down one functional improvement you’ve noticed from PT this month — big or small, it all counts.

🎄 Merry Christmas from all of us at EPT! We’re so thankful for our patients, community, and the opportunity to help you move better every day. 💙

On the eleventh day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… eleven pipers piping 🎶 and thoracic mobility!

Hayley is working through open books, half-kneeling wall rainbows, and foam-roller wall slides to improve upper-back mobility, postural control, and spine movement. Great for reducing stiffness, improving rotation… and yes, golfers — this one’s for you 😉⛳

Day 11 Challenge: Take 11 slow, deep breaths anytime stress rises and focus on tall posture.

On the tenth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… ten lords a-leaping 👑 and controlled power!

Today’s focus is safe landing and shock absorption. Dr. Trevor demonstrates sit-to-stands with a small hop, then progresses to jump rope to challenge coordination and joint control. Power is only useful when you can land it safely.

Day 10 Challenge: Complete 10 sit-to-stands, focusing on a soft, controlled landing each time.

On the ninth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… nine ladies dancing 💃 and movement coordination!

Today, Maggie is leading the way with grapevines and rhythmic stepping patterns to challenge balance and coordination.

Day 9 Challenge: Try 9 heel raises at your counter × 3 rounds to keep your ankles and calves strong!

On the eighth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… eight maids a-milking 🐄 and better squat mechanics!

Hayley, OT, is coaching Miley on proper squat form to safely pick items up off the floor — a movement we use every day at home and work. Good body mechanics help protect your back and build functional strength.

Day 8 Challenge: Be intentional today — practice picking things up off the floor using proper body mechanics.

On the seventh day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… seven swans a-swimming 🦢 and lower-body gliding!

Today it’s Willem working on “swan glides” — keeping one foot grounded while the other glides forward, backward, and to the side to improve balance and hip stability.

Day 7 Challenge: warm up with a 7 minute walk, finishing with swan glides all 3 directions on each leg for 30 seconds.

On the sixth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… six geese a-laying 🪿 and core work done right!

Dr. Trevor kicks things off with diaphragmatic breathing to activate the deep core. Then Sydney takes it to the floor with controlled knee marches and dead bugs — building strength, coordination, and stability.

Day 6 Challenge: Before bed tonight, take six slow diaphragmatic breaths to reinforce core control and wind down. Follow up with 2 sets of 10 reps of knee marches and dead bugs just like Sydney!

On the fifth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… five golden rings💍and joint mobility!

Today we’re moving five key joints through gentle circular motions: neck, shoulders, hips, wrists, and ankles. This helps warm up the body, improve mobility, and reduce stiffness.

Day 5 Challenge: Complete all five joints for 30 seconds clockwise and 30 seconds counterclockwise — slow, controlled, and pain-free!

On the fourth day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… four calling birds 🐦 and stronger shoulder stability!

Today Sydney pulled “external rotation” off the wall — a key movement for building a healthy, stable shoulder. With a towel at her elbow and a band in hand, she’s working those rotator cuff muscles with control and good form.

For her home stretch, she’s opening up the chest with a simple doorway pec stretch to balance strength and mobility.

Day 4 Challenge: Try 2 sets of 10 shoulder external rotations + a 15-second pec stretch. Your posture will love you!

On the third day of Christmas, EPT gave to me… three French hens🐓and stronger lumbopelvic stability!

We’re building a solid foundation with three essentials: bridges, dead bugs, and bird dogs — all focused on improving core control and protecting your low back.

Day 3 Challenge: Complete 2 sets of 10 for each exercise — all three! Your core will thank you!
