UNC Health Blue Ridge On October 1, 2021, we became UNC Health Blue Ridge and joined the UNC Health family.

Blue Ridge includes hospitals in Morganton and Valdese, Phifer Wellness Center, Grace Ridge Retirement Community, and the Blue Ridge Medical Group of physician practices.

Please join us in congratulating Amanda Jones from McDowell Medical Associates- Marion for setting the standard of excellence and embodying the true spirit of nursing. Amanda had two nominations for the DAISY Award. One of her nominations reads “Amanda is the kind of nurse you really like and who you hope you will see at the doctor's office. She is attentive, funny, professional, interested in you as a patient and sympathetic. She returns our phone calls when we need something rather than ignoring our questions. We really think Amanda is the best nurse ever and deserves the recognition for her exceptional service to her patients.”

We’ve just completed a wheelchair swap across our Morganton campus, introducing brand-new Staxi wheelchairs for patients and visitors!

This upgrade comes after a thorough assessment focused on enhancing patient experience, improving staff efficiency, and ensuring safety. These new chairs are designed for comfort, reliability, and ease of use, making every visit a little smoother.

Thank you to the Blue Ridge HealthCare Foundation for funding several of these new wheelchairs through Granting Hope, and to our teammates who helped this transition seamless!

It was an exciting start to the new year here at UNC Health Blue Ridge with the arrival of this year's first baby at our Morganton campus, a precious baby girl!👶🏻🩷

This little one and her family received a warm welcome and lots of gifts donated from our teammates in the Family Center. Gifts included a pack and play, diapers, skincare and much more to make sure baby and mom have everything they need to start the new year ready. In response to recent increasing trends of respiratory illness in our community, the following restrictions and guidance go into effect at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5 for all UNC Health Blue Ridge inpatient locations.

- Visitors aged 11-years-old and younger will be prohibited from all inpatient areas and all waiting areas.
- All visitors with respiratory symptoms are prohibited from all inpatient areas and all waiting areas.
- Healthy visitors of any age will remain welcome in our lobbies and retail/food locations.

If you are feeling sick or have recently experienced any symptoms of respiratory illnesses, please stay home. Your cooperation helps us keep vulnerable patients safe. Thank you for your understanding and support
