As a small, independent family practice, we take pride in giving every patient the kind of care we’d want for our own loved ones. We're a small but mighty family medicine practice with three providers dedicated to serving our community with heart, hustle, and a few dad jokes along the way. From runny noses to real talk, we've got your health covered- minus the long wait times and robotic vibes. Come for the care, stay for the smiles. From first diaper changes to retirement plans we care for everyone- newborns, teens, parents, and grandparents and all the beautiful chaos in between! We are currently accepting new patients and we would love to meet you! (Especially Sophie, our resident three-legged pup!)

🍂🦃Thanksgiving week hours! 🍂🦃
We will be closing at noon on Wednesday Nov 26th through Friday Nov 28th. We will be back with normal hours on Monday Dec 1st! Please make sure all medication refills needed are taken care of as we cannot refill meds when the office is closed! Thank you all and we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Most people know that October is breast cancer awareness month, but did you know that October is also a month to remember pregnancy and infant loss? Sadly about 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage…you probably know someone who has experienced this. This month maybe say a little prayer for those mothers and fathers who have experienced this loss…and if this is you just know you are not alone ❤️

Continuing with our staff intros, meet Kayla!
If you have ever stopped by, called, or have been a patient for any length of time you have probably spoken to Kayla! She works at our front desk making appointments, answering phones, and pretty much handling literally anything you could need! Kayla started working at Hopewell in 2013 after first being a CMA student with us! She has been an amazing asset to our team ever since! You will rarely see her walking…she is usually speed walking/jogging every where she goes! We would all like to know how many steps she gets everyday!

Kayla loves helping patients in anyway she can! She is always trying to make sure everyone is well taken care of and fixing any issues or concerns as quickly as possible! Outside of the office you can find her getting in a workout, taking walks with her husband, grandmother and dog or tending to her many, many plants!

Thank you Kayla for everything you do!

Meet our office manager, Tammy Davis! Tammy has been with Hopewell Family Medicine for 19 years! She is a certified medical assistant who started out working at the front desk before becoming Dr. McManus’s nurse. If you have been a patient for any length of time you probably know Tammy! She is well known as the best shot-giver and the one can who do it all! If you cannot find a chart, Tammy can. If you need to drill some holes for something, Tammy has a drill (and many other tools) in her office. She keeps our supplies well stocked and pretty much knows everyone! About 3 years ago she stepped into the role of office manager, adding many duties and skills to her list! Tammy thoroughly enjoys helping people in any way that she can and hopes to be a light for the Lord every day in the process. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, fishing and kayaking. She is excited for fall campfires and s’mores soon!

Meet Matthew Soentgen, FNP!

Matt has been with Hopewell Family Medicine since 2022. Prior to graduate school Matt spent 5 years in the Navy as a Navy Corpsman before going to nursing school. He then worked as an emergency department nurse for 20 years. He went on to complete his Master's Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. We are lucky to have his many years of experience! Matt is particularly interested in taking a more holistic approach to care. He prefers to see each patient as a whole person rather than the sum of their symptoms.

When Matt is not at work he is often enjoying the outdoors camping, hiking, traveling. He is active in Boy Scouts with his two sons. He enjoys cooking, gardening, travel and backpacking.

As the school year kicks off, it's the perfect time to make sure your kids are healthy, energized, and ready to learn! Think check ups, updated shots, healthy snacks, and bedtime routines! Adequate sleep is so so important for developing young minds (and old minds too of course!).

And when the school bells start ringing the germs start singing so make sure your little petri dishes wash hands often and avoid touching mouth and eyes as much as they can! 💪📚

Quick heads up to all of our patients! We will be closed Monday September 1st for Labor day! Please make sure you take care of all medication refills or anything else you need before the end of this week. We are unable to refill medications outside of clinic hours. Meet Sarah McManus Patton, PA-C!
Sarah is sometimes better known as Dr. McManus’s daughter and/or Sophie’s mom! She graduated from Gardner Webb University with her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2017 and has been with Hopewell Family Medicine ever since. Sarah has a special passion for preventive and mental health, helping patients build healthy habits with diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes that actually stick. Her goal is to empower each patient to take responsibility for their health and wellness so they can feel their very best.

Her favorite part of family medicine is watching her patients grow and thrive over the years — from newborn visits to milestone birthdays, she considers it an honor to walk alongside families through every season of life.

Outside of the exam room you can usually find her hiking, spending time with her husband and 2 dogs or browsing a bookstore with coffee in hand! And don’t worry she doesn’t get offended when patients really only come to see Sophie 😉.

Meet Dr. Mark McManus!
Dr. McManus is our fearless leader here at Hopewell Family Medicine. He graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1987 and completed his family medicine residency with Mission Hospital in 1990. He has been caring for patients of all ages ever since! In 2002 he took a leap of faith deciding to open his own practice and Hopewell Family Medicine was born.

Known for his caring bedside manner and his ability to explain medical jargon in plain English, Dr. McManus makes visits feel less intimidating—and maybe even a little fun. He believes medicine should be personal, not rushed, and that a good laugh is sometimes the best medicine (don’t worry, he still prescribes the real stuff too).

Outside the office, you can find Dr. McManus on a tractor working on his farm raising cows, pigs and chickens, hanging out with his grandsons, or telling dad jokes that make his kids roll their eyes.

We’re thrilled to have him caring for our patients and bringing both skill and smiles to our practice!
