Current President Kathryn Beaver, Past President Krys Drakin, Secretary Kelly Sanders , and other Broughton Staff and Interns took a trip to Western Carolina yesterday! 💛💜

Staff at Broughton assisted in a mock behavioral health RT group to simulate more realistic challenges and importance of flexibility. After, the students and staff talked about the daily routine and case load at Broughton. Students were able to ask questions about population, documentation, assessments, and how RT plays an important role in the recovery process at Broughton.

Thankful for these learning opportunities for our students and professional.

Hey! Did you know that RT Month starts Monday?!

Do you have plans? If so let us know! We love hearing what you are doing to advocate for Recreational Therapy in your workplace or school!

If you don't have plans, we encourage you to print our calendar out and join us in celebration.

Throughout the month we will be posting questions, polls, and asking for your feedback and pictures. Be sure to engage and submit on Instagram. The individual with the most interaction on our Instagram page will receive a prize at the end of the month.

Reminder that NCRTA memberships are 50% off in the month of February! And SPIF registration is now open!

Registration make look a bit different this year. Please be mindful when registering for conference that you select conference and CEUs, as they are two separate cost this year. You will need to purchase the CEUs to receive ceu credit at this conference.

Also, if you are a NCRTA Member, be on the lookout for an email with your NCRTA member discount code.

All sessions are under review for CEU approval and we will have a tentative schedule released by the end of the week. There's an assumption that all professionals could earn up to 6.5 ceus at this conference.

If you are interested in group registration for students, there is an option for that on the registration page.

🔹️The NCRTA Board of Directors is excited to open call for papers for our 2026 Student Professional Issues Forum. The University of North Carolina Greensboro has so kindly allowed us to have conference on their beautiful campus this year and we look forward to being in a central location for all of our NC professionals. This will be an ATRA hosted conference and CEUs will be loaded through your ATRA online account.

We had the best day in Morganton!

A great showcase of the amazing things our professionals and different organizations are doing.
We love hearing of the new modalities, research, and programs you all are implementing at your workplace. We plan to continue offering in-person CEU and certification opportunities so you can continue networking and growing with all the professionals across the state. And what a great reminder it was of all of the hard work your state and national organizations are doing behind the scenes because of you and for you! If you're interested in getting involved in NCRTA, ATRA, and /or NCBRTL please reach out!

Thank you attendees, speakers, NCRTA board members, ATRA staff, and Western Piedmont Community College. It really takes a village and that's exactly what we have. Grateful is an understatement.
