Spinal manipulation does not increase the risk of developing cauda equina syndrome compared to physical therapist-led exercise. Scientific Commission members Robert Trager teamed up with colleagues Anthony Baumann, Romeo Perfecto, and Christine Horon Goertz to study the risk of developing cauda equina syndrome in patients with lumbar disc herniations, spinal stenosis, or radiculopathy.
