WVU Medicine is once again pushing the boundaries of cancer care.

A WVU Cancer Institute team led by Dr. Shailendra Singh became the first in the nation to use an endoscopic ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (EUS-MWA) to treat a pancreatic lesion, offering a minimally invasive option for patients who are not candidates for complex surgery.

This innovative approach allows physicians to precisely target and destroy tumor tissue while sparing healthy structures, marking another major step forward in treating pancreatic cancer.

We’re proud to announce the launch of the first Brain Health Collaboratory, a partnership between the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Cognito Therapeutics.

This pioneering model integrates clinical care, AI-powered research, and real-world data to accelerate the discovery and delivery of non-drug neurotherapies for Alzheimer’s and other neurological conditions.

A key aspect of this initiative is Spectris™, Cognito’s investigational, non-invasive neuroprotective device designed for at-home use and showing promise in preserving brain structure and function.

The WVU Brain Health Collaboratory is the first in a planned national network that will bring together leading academic medical centers to create a proactive, data-driven infrastructure for brain health from the clinic to the community.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes on Veterans Day 🇺🇸

On this Veterans Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served our country — and those who continue to serve.

The WVU Medicine community gathered for a Veterans Day Lunch and Ceremony to recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our veterans and active military members.

We’re also proud to support our flag fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting organizations that serve veterans. The flags displayed on our hospital’s front lawn are a powerful reminder of the strength and unity that define our community.

To every veteran and service member, thank you for your service.
