Beautifully said, Mal! A powerful reminder that we are human “beings”, not human “doers.”
Thank you for sharing!
I went to yoga today and honestly it just made me think about how crazy it is that we’re supposed to have everything balanced and figured out. Business, home, working out, eating right, organizing, relationships… all of it. It feels impossible most days.
And just because I post about going to yoga one day doesn’t mean I’m in there every day. In fact I havent been in months. Just like someone posting a perfect house doesn’t mean it always looks like that. Society makes us feel like we should always be doing more, being more, achieving more. It’s exhausting.
The truth is, it’s okay to do nothing. To literally sit in your free time and not want to do a thing. We should be able to do that! For me most times i always feel like I have to be doing something or getting better at something… doing nothing that doesn’t mean you’re lazy, it means you’re human. But the world we live in makes us feel guilty for resting, like we’re falling behind in some race.
I just keep reminding myself that trying every day, however that looks, is enough. And sometimes “trying” is resting, breathing, or just letting yourself exist. Sometimes trying is waking up with no plan and having the day take you.
A huge part of this human journey I truly think is learning how to love oneself through it all. And that’s how you achieve how to care for one another.
Let’s embrace this change of seasons and honor it!
Mal
