The next speaker we would like to introduce in our Speaker Spotlight for the upcoming TBI Conference is Grace Mauzy, MA, PhD. Candidate from the MoCrazy Strong Foundation! We are super excited that Grace has agreed to speak again for us as she will be presenting on:

"MoCrazy Method: How Mind-Body Medicines Increase the Quality of Life for TBI Survivors and Family Caregivers"

Grace Mauzy has spent decades practicing and leading mind-body therapies, integrating them with Western medicine to support holistic well-being. Early in her career, she explored complementary approaches that combined psychological, social, nutritional, physical, and spiritual components to enhance self-care and quality of life. Long before the science of neuroplasticity was established, Grace believed in the brain’s adaptability and saw people with severe TBIs rebuild their lives.

This belief became deeply personal when Grace’s daughter (Jamie MoCrazy) suffered a severe TBI, and she applied her academic, professional, and personal knowledge to support her healing through a mind-body and Western therapeutic dyad. Through this integrated approach, Jamie made a full recovery and now lives an independent, fulfilling life. That experience inspired Grace to help others with TBI—and their caregivers—understand the value of mind-body therapies in improving quality of life.

Nikki received her M.S. in Communication Disorders from Marshall in 2011, and prior to joining the department she worked as a speech- language pathologist in traumatic brain injury community reentry programs, skilled nursing, and public school settings in WV, KY, NC, and SC.
