This week, we are celebrating our students who have served or are currently serving in the United States military.

As a speech-language pathology graduate student in the WVU School of Medicine Mildred Shea draws upon problem-solving skills she learned in the U.S. Navy.

“The military taught me to dig deeper; there’s always another avenue you can try to explore and get the answer,” she said.

Now, she’s applying that same mindset to help patients find their voices. Through her studies and experiences at West Virginia University, Mildred is building on her dedication to service. Read more about Mildred's story: https://stories.wvu.edu/new-ranks-new-roles
