Parents Who Host Lose the Most — Don’t Be a Party to Underage Drinking 🚫🍻

In New Mexico, adults who sell, serve, give, or allow alcohol to be consumed by someone under 21 can be charged with a fourth-degree felony, carrying serious legal consequences including possible jail time and fines.

Even well-intentioned adults can unintentionally put kids at risk when alcohol is available. Research shows that when parents provide alcohol or allow underage drinking—even in their own home—it increases young people’s likelihood of drinking more and facing harmful outcomes.

Here’s how you can protect our community:

✔ Refuse to provide alcohol to anyone under 21
✔ Host alcohol-free events with fun, engaging activities
✔ Communicate clear expectations with teens and other parents
✔ Check in regularly at gatherings and know what’s happening

Prevention works when everyone has a role. Let’s keep our families and neighborhoods safe, healthy, and strong.

Parents Who Host Lose The Most! 👎🏽
Don’t land you behind bars! Most of Sierra County High School students reported drinking alcohol at home. Providing alcohol to minors isn't a favor; it's a felony! You could go to jail, pay a hefty fine and lose your right to own a gun.

The people influencing your teen to try drugs or alcohol usually aren’t strangers hiding in alleyways. More often, they’re sitting next to them at school, on the bus, or at lunch. Prepare them with what to say.

Staying aware, asking questions, and keeping communication open can make all the difference. Drug Free Fayette TN encourages parents to stay engaged and informed.
