Parents Who Host Lose The Most! 👎🏽
Don’t land you behind bars! Most of Sierra County High School students reported drinking alcohol at home. Providing alcohol to minors isn't a favor; it's a felony! You could go to jail, pay a hefty fine and lose your right to own a gun.

The people influencing your teen to try drugs or alcohol usually aren’t strangers hiding in alleyways. More often, they’re sitting next to them at school, on the bus, or at lunch. Prepare them with what to say.

Staying aware, asking questions, and keeping communication open can make all the difference. Drug Free Fayette TN encourages parents to stay engaged and informed.

Alcohol isn’t just a “normal” part of growing up for teens — it can deeply impact their emotional health too. Research shows that underage drinking is linked with higher rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns among youth. Young people who drink are more likely to experience psychological distress and emotional struggles compared with their peers who wait to drink until adulthood.

Because the teen brain is still developing, alcohol can make underlying emotional problems worse rather than better. Waiting to drink until adulthood helps protect mood, mental health, and healthy brain development.

Let’s encourage open conversations about mental health and alcohol, and help our youth make healthy choices that support both body and mind.

Your tweens' best defense against underage drinking is YOU. Parents are the #1 influence on their kids' decision to drink - or not drink - alcohol. Talk early and often, they're listening.
