Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent—a solemn season of reflection, repentance, and prayer. During the penitential liturgy, we kneel at several moments to humble ourselves before God. If you’re worshiping at Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock today, keep an eye out for our kneeler as we enter this holy season together.

Dear friends of Camp Mitchell,

The Board of Directors is deeply grateful for the ministry of the Rev. Greg Warren, who has faithfully served as Camp’s acting Executive Director for the last year. We wish him every blessing on this next season.

We have already begun the important work of searching for Camp Mitchell’s next Executive Director—just as God has already begun to send them our way. The Board has appointed a search committee, chaired by the Rev. Thomas Alexander, to undergo a search process that, ultimately, recommends a candidate for Executive Director to the rest of the Board.

By the end of February, we will publish the job posting and begin welcoming applications. In the meantime, if you have anyone you would like to recommend to the search committee, please email the Rev. Thomas Alexander (thomas@trinitylittlerock.org).

Camp Mitchell is poised for great success in 2026, in large part because of the support you all have shown. Please continue to hold the Board in your prayers as this search process unfolds.

The Mountain is calling!

We're officially a month away from one incredible weekend on the mountain! All 6th–12th grade youth from across the diocese are invited to a weekend of faith, fun, and connection at Camp Mitchell, March 6–8.

This year’s theme is “Rooted in Faith, Grounded by Love” (1 Corinthians 16:13–14) as we explore courage, community, and growing into who God calls us to be, together.

Cost for the weekend is $135 and scholarships available! Be sure you’re registered by February 16 to be guaranteed an AYE t-shirt!

Want to help give the gift of summer camp to a youth in Arkansas?
You can donate today through your local parish or with Camp Mitchell to support a child or teen, ages 7–18, in attending summer camp at Camp Mitchell.

A week on the mountain is a formative, holy experience — like a week-long Eucharist. Campers are spiritually renewed, grounded in community, and sent back into the world carrying the love of Jesus in their hearts. Surrounded by creation and the care of faithful mentors, young people leave Camp Mitchell filled with hope, belonging, and a deeper sense of who God is calling them to be.

Help us ensure that financial need never stands in the way of attending camp. Thanks to your generosity in 2025, 76 children and adults were able to experience Camp Mitchell, make lasting memories on the mountain, and be shaped by community and faith.

Our residents on the mountain were greeted by a friendly visitor this morning. One of the great gifts of camp life is being surrounded by the beauty and quiet wonder of creation—nestled on Petit Jean Mountain, overlooking the Arkansas River and the Ada Valley. Moments like these remind us just how sacred this place truly is.
