Congratulations to Adam, Phoenix and Thatcher who received the 2023 awards for Leadership, Officer, and Rookie of the year as voted by fellow members!

Every year, we take time to recognize outstanding members of our organization. All of our members have worked hard to continue to ensure available emergency services to our community, but we want to acknowledge members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Adam Hasba- “Leader of the Year”: a member who has taken an active role in educating and mentoring fellow members. He has demonstrated the ability to think outside of the box and encourage his crew members to deliver quality EMS care. He is a driver and EMT on Monday Nights.

Phoenix Moy- “Officer of the Year”: the officer who has demonstrated outstanding performance in directing members and bettering the organization. She continues to support and lead new members to ensure the best care for the community. She is the Tuesday Night Lieutenant.

Thatcher Neville- “Rookie of the Year”: a probationary member who has shown exemplary dedication and proficiency. He is always eager to learn and improve his skills. We are grateful to have him as a new and active member! He is a member of Thursday Nights.

Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication to our organization. Way to go!

A full day of events! The Minute Men had a blast attending the town’s annual Halloween half marathon this morning. After lunch, they stood by Delbarton’s homecoming game. Then, they supported the Light the Night Walk to fund research and find cures for people fighting blood cancer. In between it all, we responded to 3 calls in the area!

The marathon included over 800 runners so we had 3 ambulances and the Mobile Ambulance Bus (MAB) at the event! While we appreciate the dedication and service of all our members, it was decided in 1997 to honor the sacrifice of those members who answer the most calls in the course of a year. These individuals were designated “Murray’s Crew” in honor of Murray Marks, a long-standing Past Active member of our Squad. We salute these members each year for their level of commitment to our community and Morris Minute Men.

The Morris Minute Men were invited to train with Morris Plains Fire Department and the Morris Plains Fire Association on extrication, patient movement, and patient care in motor vehicle accidents. Members got to practice what it could be like with a person under a car or only accessible from one side. They practiced multiple scenarios using various equipment such as the backboard, scoop stretcher, and KED.
