We provide ABA and Speech services to kiddos from 2 to 10 years old at our Autism Learning Center in Morris, IL. Unlocking Abilities is based out of Morris, IL.

At Unlocking Abilities Behavior and Learning our goal is to assist each child in reaching their full potential by implementing the evidenced-based principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our compassionate and highly trained staff offer effective and intensive one-on-one therapy to children who have been diagnosed with Autism, developmental disorders, and behavioral disorders. Our services are designed to meet the individual needs of each child and to maintain lasting changes by working with children to reduce problem behaviors and increase the acquisition of appropriate social, play, communicative, and adaptive living skills. We provide services in parts of western Will County, southern Kendall County and Grundy County. This includes but is not limited to Morris, Minooka, Coal City, Braceville, Joliet, Shorewood, Morris, Channahon. Depending on geographical location, Unlocking Abilities may accept clients outs

Meet one of the incredible hearts behind UABL — this month’s Therapist Spotlight, Stevi Angell!

Stevi has been working with children with special needs for five years and officially joined the ABA world in February 2025. Her journey started in a multi-needs classroom, where she fell in love with helping kids grow—but she wanted more structure, challenge, and opportunity to make a real impact. That’s when she discovered UABL and instantly knew it was the perfect fit. Watching how quickly UABL was growing and seeing the passion behind it made her think, “This is where I’m meant to be.”

For Stevi, the best part of her day is watching her learners work hard and achieve their goals—whether it’s a small step forward or a huge milestone. The smiles, laughter, and genuine connections she builds with her kiddos make every day worthwhile. Her goal each session? Bring her best self, keep things fun, and always sprinkle in a little silliness along the way!

Looking ahead, Stevi hopes to continue honing her craft and become a top-notch Registered Behavior Therapist, working across all ages and skill sets while helping UABL grow even stronger. Outside of work, you’ll find her in full mom mode—making slime, painting, cooking, hanging with family and friends, and keeping the coffee flowing nonstop. ☕

🎃 Pumpkin Decorating Contest Alert! 🎃

Huge props to our amazingly talented therapists (and their creative kiddos!) for going all out in this year’s pumpkin decorating contest! 🧡 From dragons 🐉 and ice cream sundaes 🍨 to soccer balls ⚽️ (yes, soccer balls, not cows! 😆) — the creativity and effort were off the charts.

Every pumpkin was crafted with so much heart to bring smiles to our kiddos’ faces and a little extra joy to our clinic this fall. 🍁✨

It’s been a fun holiday week at UABL — packed with pajamas, Halloween, and now… Twins Day! 🎃🩵👯‍♀️

We had some spot-on duos that absolutely nailed it — from matching outfits to full-on personality twinning! 💫

Huge props to everyone who joined in on the fun and made the day such a hit. 💙💛 And the winner goes to..... ???

🎉 Happy Birthday to our one and only Jacqueline! 🎉

She may be dressed in black and quick with her snarky one-liners, but don’t let her fool you — behind that tough exterior is a heart as big as they come (and yes, we’ve seen the occasional sentimental tear followed by a “bathroom break” 🥹).

Jacqueline has been with us since day one, helping shape UABL into what it is today. She’s a huge part of why our RBTs are rockstars — her training, guidance, and no-nonsense wisdom have built an incredible team. 💙

She’s direct, she’s empathetic, and she pours her heart into her kiddos — both at UABL and at home. She’s fiercely protective, endlessly proud, and absolutely adored by all of us.

We hope your day is filled with being spoiled by your crew, a little peace and quiet, and maybe some time with a good book (no flowers, of course — “they’re a waste of money” 💐🚫).

🎉 We’re ending the week with a WIN! 🎉

This week we got to celebrate one of our favorite milestones — a GRADUATION from Unlocking Abilities! 💙

This amazing kiddo has worked so hard, learned so much, and officially outgrown our program. That’s what it’s all about — helping our learners gain the skills, confidence, and independence to take on the world! 🌎✨

We are so proud of all the progress and growth that led to this special moment. Watching our learners reach their goals is truly the best part of what we do. 💙

🎉 Happy Birthday, Courtney! 🎉

Where do we even begin?! Courtney has been with Unlocking Abilities since the very start — our hardworking scheduler, RBT supervisor, mentor to therapists, friend to all, and the glue that holds so many things (and people!) together. 💙

She’s helped our learning center grow from the ground up while growing right alongside it — as a therapist, a leader, and a total force of nature. Her dedication runs so deep that we literally had to fire her for a weekend (with threats of trespassing if she showed up) just to make her take a break. That’s commitment! 😅

Courtney is here for all the right reasons — her heart is with our kiddos, and it shows in everything she does. She’s the kind of person who won’t answer her boss’s texts because she’s too busy being present with the kids (and honestly, that’s exactly why we love her).

So today, we’re wishing her:
🐾 Cozy cuddles with Raisin
🥤 Endless fountain Dr. Pepper
🏈 A little turnaround luck for her Ravens (do it for Courtney, Ravens!)
🚶‍♀️ And maybe even a quiet moment to relax (but we won’t hold our breath 😄).

🎉💙 Happy Birthday Sara! 💙🎉

We knew she’d be back 😉
She started with us this summer for what was supposed to be a part-time, temporary gig… but she fit in so seamlessly with our kiddos and our team that we all said, “There’s no way she’s leaving.”

AND.....Then she left. 😔
BUT we still knew. She'd be back...
And sure enough — only a few short weeks later, she was back where she belongs! 🤣🤣❤️

When she’s not busy spreading smiles at UABL, you can find her shopping at Rural King, enjoying steak tacos, sipping on Pepsi (never coffee!), and avoiding anything that involves sports — unless there’s a horse involved. 🐴

She’s allergic to negativity and brings the best kind of energy to our team every single day. 💫

🎉 Happy Birthday, Sydnee! 🎉

Sydnee has been part of the Unlocking Abilities family since we opened our center in June of 2023 and has been an incredible asset to our team ever since! She makes every session a blend of fun and learning, helping each kiddo grow while bringing her signature warmth and enthusiasm to it all. 💙

Sydnee is currently working toward her master’s degree with the goal of becoming a BCBA. She’s home right now soaking up every moment with her family, enjoying life with her new baby boy, Asher, and cheering on Emmitt as he takes on his big brother role. We can’t wait to have her back but hope she continues to enjoy this special time with her family. 💕
