Today we’re closing out Kim’s Therapist Spotlight and celebrating everything she does and brings to UABL. Kim is hardworking, passionate, dedicated, and incredibly reliable — someone our learners, families, and team can always count on. Her consistency, kindness, and considerate nature shine through in everything she does.

Kim goes above and beyond for our learners, families, and staff, always stepping in as a strong advocate and a steady support. Her outgoing, fun personality lifts those around her, and her knowledge and leadership help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

We weren’t kidding when we said we make learning FUN at UABL! 🎈🎉

Last week, we surprised the kiddos with a bouncy house in our Gross Motor Room—and let’s just say the smiles, giggles, and energy were off the charts! 😄🤸‍♂️

Even with the cold winter weather outside, we’re finding ways to keep things active, engaging, and extra fun inside. Watching the kids jump, play, and laugh together was pure joy—and the perfect way to let out some energy while still supporting movement and learning. 💙✨

🎉 Victoria did it!!! She is officially our newest RBT!! 🎉

Big cheers for Victoria, who passed her RBT certification exam today! 👏 All the studying, training, and hard work officially paid off—and we couldn’t be more proud!

Victoria joined the Unlocking Abilities family at the end of October, and from day one she fit right in. She brings a genuine passion for our kiddos and a little sassy spark that keeps us smiling on even the busiest days. 😄

Though she’s newer to the ABA world, you’d never know it. Victoria has a natural ability to meet her learners where they are, adapt on the fly, and make every session full of laughter, connection, and growth. She’s shared how much this field has filled her cup—and it’s clear our kids are feeling that same care right back. 💛

We are so lucky to have you, Victoria, and we can’t wait to watch you keep growing in a career you clearly belong in. 🧩✨

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Kim 🌟
Next up, we’re shining the spotlight on the incredible Kim — and celebrating her 2-year anniversary with the UABL family this month! 🎉👏

Kim has been passionate about supporting individuals with special needs since high school. With a sibling who has special needs, her journey began early through volunteering at summer camps and serving as a student aide in her school’s life skills program. Before entering the ABA field, Kim worked in public school autism programs and then went on to spend over five years providing direct support in ABA.

While searching for a workplace that felt like a true team and aligned with her values, Kim found her home at Unlocking Abilities. Now in an administrative role, she finds the greatest joy in watching the kids grow, supporting families, and being a strong voice and advocate for parents. She also plays an essential role in supporting our UABL staff and helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.

Looking ahead, Kim sees herself exactly where she is now — living her best life at UABL, surrounded by the best work family she could have ever asked for. 💙

Kim’s passion for ABA, dedication, and hard work help keep our center grounded and thriving. Her impact may often happen behind the scenes, but it’s felt every single day. We are beyond grateful to have Kim as part of the UABL team! 🌈✨

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, SARA — YOU DID IT AGAIN! 🎉

Sara originally joined us this summer as a favor, stepping in to help fill some scheduling gaps. When the school year started, she headed back to her para position… but with a little persistent nudging (okay, a lot 😉), she found her way back to where she truly belongs — with the UABL family.

Plot twist though… her RBT credentials had lapsed.

So what did Sara do? She stepped up, retook the entire 40-hour course, and NAILED the RBT exam — all while not feeling her best this week. 💪👏

We appreciate her quirkiness, her adorable attempts at a British accent 🇬🇧, and the light she brings to our team every single day. We had absolutely no doubt she’d crush it (again!), and we’re so proud to officially celebrate her RBT status — AGAIN!

Way to go, Sara! We’re lucky to have you 💙🧩

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Tyler 🌟
We’re kicking off the new year by celebrating one of UABL’s very best — Tyler! And even more exciting, Tyler just celebrated his 2-year anniversary with the UABL family this month! 🎉👏

Before stepping into the world of ABA, Tyler gained valuable experience working with learners with special needs in crisis situations. A recommendation from a friend sparked his curiosity about ABA, and after observing learners interacting with the UABL team and seeing the genuine joy and connection in action, he knew this was where he wanted to be. Tyler has spent the past two years growing in the ABA field right here at UABL — and we’re so grateful he took that leap!

What motivates Tyler every day is watching learners make both small steps and big strides socially and academically. Seeing that progress makes his work feel more like a reward than a job. His goal each session is simple but powerful: to make every learner excited to come to UABL and to make learning fun and meaningful. 💙✨

Looking ahead, Tyler plans to continue his education by pursuing a master’s degree in a psychology or sociology-related field, such as social work or ABA. Outside of work, you’ll find him coaching wrestling, catching a good movie, and spending quality time with friends and family. 🤼‍♂️🎬👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
