✨ Exciting News! Welcome Josh, Our New BCBA at Unlocking Abilities! ✨

We are thrilled to introduce Josh Copeland to the Unlocking Abilities team as our newest Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)!

Josh brings 13 years of experience working with learners with special needs and 8 years in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). His journey in ABA began after college while working as a paraprofessional in a special needs school, where he had the opportunity to work closely with a BCBA. Through that experience, he discovered a passion for behavior analysis and helping individuals build meaningful skills that improve their daily lives.

What drew Josh to Unlocking Abilities was the genuine commitment to putting clients first. During the interview process, he quickly recognized that UABL prioritizes individualized care and truly values the well-being of the children and families we serve.

For Josh, one of the most rewarding parts of being a BCBA is witnessing those incredible “light bulb moments”—when a child works hard to learn a new skill and finally achieves it. His goal each day is to understand what motivates each learner and help them grow into the best version of themselves.

When he’s not at the clinic, Josh enjoys spending time with his kids, going to parks and on walks, playing disc golf, watching sports, and spending time outdoors.

We are so excited to have Josh join our team and look forward to the positive impact he will make for our learners and families here at Unlocking Abilities! 💙

Today we’re celebrating one year with our wonderful BCBA, Kelsey! From the moment she joined UABL, Kelsey has brought knowledge, compassion, and a calm, welcoming energy that makes a difference for our kiddos, families, and therapists every day.

Kelsey has a special way of making learning both meaningful and fun. Whether she’s mentoring our RBTs, boosting confidence, or bringing her goofy and playful personality to the therapy floor, she creates an environment where everyone feels supported and encouraged to grow.

With years of experience in ABA and a true passion for helping children thrive, Kelsey continues to make a lasting impact across our clinic. We are so grateful for the warmth, wisdom, and joy she brings to UABL.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Victoria 🌟

Next up, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on the wonderful Victoria Franz! 💗

Victoria has worked with learners with special needs for about 4 years, along with volunteering at special needs church events over the years. She is new to the field of ABA and began her journey after looking for meaningful 1:1 work with children — a path that quickly led her to Unlocking Abilities. ✨

Victoria chose UABL because she immediately saw the level of support the clinic provides to both the children and one another. What motivates her each day is watching her learners accomplish their goals and seeing their progress. Her goal for every session is simple but meaningful: making sure each learner leaves on a positive note. 🌈

Looking ahead, Victoria sees herself continuing in this field for the rest of her career, growing in ABA while making a lasting difference in the lives of the children she works with. 🫶💕

Outside of work, Victoria enjoys spending time with her dog, reading, and writing. Whether it’s poetry, short stories, or journaling about her day, writing helps her reflect and recharge. 📚🐾

Victoria is resilient, dependable, compassionate, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her positive energy and big heart bring so much warmth to our learners and team, and her signature snarky sense of humor keeps us laughing and makes our days at UABL even more fun.

We are beyond grateful to have Victoria as part of the UABL family! 💙✨

☀️ Fun in the Sun at UABL ☀️

Yesterday’s sunshine was exactly what we all needed! Our kiddos and therapists took full advantage of the beautiful weather with some much-deserved time outside.

There is something so special about seeing big smiles, spontaneous giggles, and natural peer interactions happening in the fresh air. Outdoor play isn’t just fun — it builds regulation, social skills, flexibility, and joy. And yesterday was pure joy!

Grateful for sunshine, teamwork, and moments that remind us why we do what we do. 💛

Shouting the happiest birthday to our bright and beautiful Ms. Kyla! From the moment she joined the UABL family, her positive energy, genuine smile, and joyful spirit have brought so much happiness to our center — and our kiddos absolutely adore her. 💙

If you know Kyla, you know she is authentic, kind, and full of compassion. She has the biggest heart, an upbeat personality, and a charisma that lights up every room she walks into. She celebrates every learner’s progress, spreads positivity wherever she goes, and reminds our kiddos every day just how proud she is of them.

Kyla’s journey in ABA started while working as a direct support professional, and she quickly fell in love with helping kiddos grow and succeed. In just a year and a half, she’s become an amazing therapist who leads with patience, love, and enthusiasm — and she truly makes UABL a better place.

Outside of work, Kyla is just as sweet:

Last week we had the joy of celebrating Ms. Meghan with a surprise baby shower as she prepares to welcome baby #3 — a sweet baby BOY! 💙👶

We are so grateful for everything Meghan does for our kiddos, families, and team at UABL, and it was so special to shower her with love (and lots of boy goodies!) as she gets ready for this exciting new chapter with her growing family.
