The Heritage Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Morristown, Tennessee.

Located between Knoxville and the Tri-Cities area, Morristown, Tennessee, is home to The Heritage Center, a Life Care Centers of America facility. Approximately half a mile from Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System and Lakeway Regional Medical Center, our facility is the perfect choice for individuals in need of short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and post-operative recovery. Our nursing home features an on-site physician and a homelike environment to our patients and residents in need of rehabilitation or skilled nursing care. We are proud to offer both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for our patients, and our team of therapists and nurses works together to create an individualized care plan for each individual in our care.

Meet our Infection Preventionist, Jessica Lancaster, RN! 👩‍⚕️

🩺 Jessica has been a Registered Nurse for 14 years, bringing a wide range of clinical experience to her role as Infection Preventionist at The Heritage Center. Her background includes med/surg, ICU, labor and delivery, and interventional radiology before transitioning into long-term care.

🫶 She has been part of The Heritage Center team for nearly 6 years and is dedicated to promoting safety, quality care, and well-being for residents and staff alike. Outside of work, Jessica cherishes her quiet mornings with a word from the Lord and a good cup of coffee. She also enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her many animals.

Meet our Dietary Director, Melody Jones! 🥘⭐

For Melody, feeding people has always been a passion. Coming from a large family with 6 siblings, food was at the heart of how her family connected, cared for one another, and showed love—something that still inspires her work every single day. 🫂

Melody graduated from Morristown East High School WBL, and continued her education at Walters State Community College and Tennessee Tech University. Her background and experience have helped shape her commitment to providing nutritious, comforting meals that truly make a difference in people's lives. Outside of work, Melody cherishes spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoys quilting, which allows her to relax and carry on the tradition of creating things with care and purpose. ❤️

Meet our Social Services Director, Carla Turner! 🫂💕

Carla graduated from Tusculum University with a BA in philosophy with a concentration in behavioral health. She has served as Social Services Director for nearly a decade across 2 Life Care facilities, and also brings 15 years of experience in the medical field. Carla began her career as a CNA and housekeeper, where she quickly felt a calling to help others and be a trusted resource and shoulder to lean on. Her hands-on background and deep compassion continue to shape her resident-centered approach to care and advocacy. 🫶

Outside of work Carla is married with 3 children. She enjoys attending church, spending quality time with her family, and cooking. Thanks for being such an integral part of our team, Carla! 🌟

Heather has been with The Heritage Center for two and a half years, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for everyone. Marti, RN/BSN, holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King University in Bristol, Tennessee, and brings both heart and purpose to her current work in healthcare. She is deeply committed to serving others through education, teaching new CNAs and creatively contributing to policies and procedures that support employees and enhance care across the organization.

Marti’s daughter and granddaughter are her greatest pride and joy. The encouragement and support of those around her have empowered Marti to fully embrace her nursing journey, providing the foundation for her success in her role at The Heritage Center. 🫂

Meet our Director of Nursing, Amy Thompson! 🩺🌟

Amy, RN/BSN, is an accomplished nursing leader who started her healthcare career as a CNA, where she developed a strong foundation in compassionate, patient-centered care and gained firsthand insight into the realities of frontline nursing work. Driven by a passion for growth and service, Amy advanced her education and transitioned into registered nursing by achieving her Bachelor’s degree, while steadily assuming roles of increasing responsibility. Through years of clinical excellence and leadership development, she progressed into supervisory and management positions, ultimately earning the role of Director of Nursing. 👏

Amy's career journey reflects dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to the nursing profession. She provides strategic and operational oversight of nursing services, with a focus on quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she is a proud mother of 3 daughters and enjoys being in nature and finding great bargains. She remains committed to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development to stay current with the best practices in nursing leadership and healthcare. 💙

Brittany holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from King University in Bristol, TN, and brings both heart and expertise to her role. She began her career as a CNA in long-term care, where she discovered a passion for serving others. Through those early experiences, Brittany fell in love with the sense of community and meaningful connections formed with the elderly population—a passion that continues to guide her work. 🫂

Brittany is also a proud mom of two boys, a role that further shapes her compassionate, people-first approach to leadership. Brittany’s journey from hands-on caregiving to executive leadership reflects her deep commitment to care. We’re grateful to have her leading our team and supporting our community every step of the way. ❤️

We love sharing our rehab success stories! 😁

Recently, Mary came to us for rehabilitation after a femur fracture left her dependent in her mobility and daily care tasks. Through physical and occupational therapies, she has regained strength, function and mobility and is mostly independent! 🎉

"Therapy was hard at times, but I needed it to get better," Mary said. "All the therapists were great! I know I have come a long way with their help!"
