🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Brenda Cole 🌟

Brenda Cole has been a dedicated volunteer at Morristown Hospital since November 2009, bringing her warm spirit to the gift shop. After retiring from a 30-year career in the Tennessee National Guard, Brenda was looking for a meaningful way to spend her time—and she found it in volunteering.

She loves reading, visiting with friends, and helping others. Brenda says the most rewarding part is “helping patients and staff and making new friends.” Her advice? “Find out what’s available and volunteer where you’re most interested.”

Brenda has also served as Volunteer Auxiliary President and is a go-to resource for all things gift shop and volunteer-related. We’re so grateful for her leadership and heart! 💙

🌟 Celebrating Extraordinary Care: Sarah Storms Frazier 🌟

We’re thrilled to announce that Sarah Storms Frazier, RN, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Morristown-Hamblen. This prestigious award recognizes nurses who go above and beyond in delivering compassionate, skillful care to patients and their families.

Sarah was nominated by two physicians who shared a touching story about how she brought joy and healing to a long-term CCU patient by taking her outside to enjoy the sunshine multiple times. They bonded over their shared love of the outdoors, and Sarah even gifted the patient one of her own wildlife photos. Each visit outside lifted the patient’s spirits and improved her vital signs.

💐 We even surprised Sarah with her family during the award ceremony, making the moment even more special.

The DAISY Award is part of an international program that honors the incredible impact nurses have every day. If you’ve experienced extraordinary care from a nurse, we encourage you to share your story.
