This Purple Day, we’re raising awareness for epilepsy and highlighting advanced treatment options like VNS Therapy by LivaNova. 🤗

VNS Therapy works by delivering gentle, regular stimulation to the vagus nerve, helping to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures over time. It can be an important option for patients whose seizures are difficult to control with medication alone.

During visits, a handheld wand is used to communicate with the device, allowing providers to check activity and adjust settings. This information is displayed on a tablet, giving real-time insights that help guide personalized treatment and optimize care.

At NJPNI, we are committed to comprehensive, patient-centered care, utilizing innovative therapies to support better outcomes and improve quality of life for our patients.

Together, we continue to raise awareness and support those living with epilepsy. 💜

If your baby consistently tilts their head or prefers looking one way, it’s important not to wait it out. Congenital muscular torticollis responds best to early, structured physical therapy, with about a 97% resolution rate when treatment begins before 6 months of age.

This video highlights what physical therapy targets and demonstrates simple daily positioning habits that can support your baby’s development.

If you’re unsure whether your child may have torticollis, consider reaching out to NJPNI or speaking with your pediatrician about a physical therapy evaluation this week.
