Does Your Nanny Have CPR Certification?

Your maternity leave is almost over, and it’s time to return to work. The thought of leaving your precious newborn in someone else’s care is anxiety-provoking, but you have given yourself enough time to interview plenty of childcarecandidates to ensure that you find the perfect caregiver for your baby. You want someone who is going to love your child as much as you do, someone responsible and, of course, nurturing. But there is one qualification that might not immediately come to mind but could mean the difference between life and death for your child. Does your applicant have their American Heart Association Infant and Child First Aid Certification and AHA Infant and Child CPR AED Certification?

Make sure you hire a CPR-certified nanny or help to get CPR training for baby caregiver.

A child who cannot breathe is only minutes away from death. Respiratory issues are the #1 reason an infant or child goes into cardiac arrest. Before asking about whether your baby caregiver will do the baby’s laundry, find out if he or she is properly trained to recognize sudden cardiac arrest in an infant and child as well as whether they have any First Aid skills to save your baby’s life while in their care.

Surrounding your baby with safety—get the appropriate first aid, CPR, and choking certifications and training

For parents, safety is not just an afterthought. In fact, you should place emergency preparedness at the top of your list of priorities when seeing an in-home childcare provider. Plan on having the potential caregiver explain how they would go about performing CPR on your baby. In addition, your baby might only be drinking from a bottle now, but he will be eating solid food before you know it. Will your new nanny know what to do in a choking incident? Does she know the difference between how to treat choking in an infant and an older child? What about First Aid training - does she have proper Epi-Pen training should your baby develop life-threatening allergies or know the proper way to treat a burn or deep cut?

Finding the right person for the job and helping them find the best CPR certification for your baby

As the parent and employer, it is so important to find the candidate who will keep your baby safe, well-cared for and happy. If you find an applicant that you absolutely adore but they perhaps don’t have the proper safety training, do not fret! Luckily it is easy to find plenty of CPR certification programs. There are a variety of courses offered that cover a range that includes infant CPR, AED, infant choking and First Aid. Some courses are more encompassing and will include child CPR as well—something to think about as your child will grow out of the infant phase in the blink of an eye.

Early Childhood Education—Preparing Your Teachers with a CPR Certification

How to ensure your teaching staff knows their ABC’s...and CPR

I recently had the opportunity to return to my children’s preschool as a certified AHA instructor to provide CPR recertification to the Early Childhood Center’s entire staff. Though a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver CPR/AED certifications are valid for two years, this particular preschool program requires their teachers to undergo recertification annually.

Starting the course for 50 women, many of whom I have known for 12 years since my oldest began preschool there, was particularly daunting. These teachers have taken this adult and child CPR/AED course every year—what new information did I have to offer? Why did they need to listen to me? Could I keep them engaged for three hours?

Changes to the AHA-accredited CPR Certification

In 2015, changes were made to the life-saving protocols handed down by the American Heart Association. Anyone who wascertified prior to 2015 should immediately register for an updated CPR class! Changes have impacted not only how compressions are provided while performing CPR but also how choking victims are treated. Many of these changes were new information for these preschool teachers, and they were grateful to learn the updates.

Learn CPR by being hands-on.

The greatest feedback I received was in regard to how hard I made them work and how much they needed to practice.

“★★★★★ in the last week

I have been doing CPR every year for the past 10 years. This year was the most hands-on knowledgeable class I have ever taken. The instruction was excellent. Thank you, Elit, for all your help in making me a more confident person in CPR.”

“★★★★★ a week ago

Elit and Sean did an outstanding job at our preschool's CPR training yesterday. I have been taking this course from others for many years, but this was the first time I came out feeling truly prepared.”

By providing hands-on training, the information is absorbed more intensely, and the teachers will feel more confident if they are faced with the need of providing high-quality CPR to one of their preschool students. When given the option of taking an online-only course vs. an American Heart Association class offered in the classroom, remember that there is no substitute for hands-on learning!

What preschool teachers need to know

Depending on whether your school is solely a preschool or also offers a day care option, there are a variety of CPR classes that could be applicable for your teachers. If you offer day care and enroll children under the age of one year, your teachers should receive an infant CPR/AED certification. If you also offer early childhood education up through pre-k or kindergarten, your teachers should be certified in pediatric CPR as well as adult CPR. Also consider adding on a First Aid certification for your teachers so that they are prepared for many different types of medical emergencies.

Group on-site CPR Training for Magna Power Electronics Company in Flemington, NJ

From the initial contact thru the completion of the training, CPR Certification Solutions was top-notch and very professional (not to mention more economical than other services). Sean was timely in his communication and thorough with the details of the training, and Donald was fantastic.

I've gone thru CPR/AED training thru another company for the past 10 years and I can truly say that this experience was by far the most informative, interactive and engaging. Donald arrived early, established the room setup, and kept our group learning throughout the entire training. Donald kept everyone's attention and provided detailed steps to not only perform CPR but also to understand the purpose of each step.

Donald was open to questions and scenarios specific to our environment and provided critical information to ensure we were prepared for any situation that may arise. His knowledge, passion and training style were great! The group enjoyed the training and felt accomplished when it was complete.

Not to mention, Donald stayed after the training to spend time with a few employees to show them how to perform Infant CPR for their children at home. Not many trainers would take the extra time after class to show additional techniques that they weren't being "paid for." I would highly recommend Sean, Donald and the CPR/AED Certification Solutions team to any company for their training/certification needs.

A special thanks needs to go out to Doreen, the owner of Cradles to Crayons for her

tremendous positive energy review of our classes. Teaching your staff was a pleasure and

Doreen’s Review:

“CPR Certification Solutions has recently trained our entire staff at Cradles to Crayons for

their CPR re-certification. I want to thank Donald, Sean and the staff for the fantastic

experience we had with this company! We have used many other services over the last 19

years and don't recall one that was as professional and enthusiastic as CPR Certification

Solutions. I was thrilled to hear the staff talk about how much more they learned from

previous classes and how much fun they had taking the course.

This company truly makes a difference!!!”

CPR trainings and First Aid classes help make communities healthier and safer to work and live in

We all watch drama or action on TV or streaming videos about EMS, Police, Fire and medical emergencies. We do this from the comfort and privacy of our homes, apartments and dormitory rooms. Every person watching can identify with that scene; its fast paced, dramatic and some civilian hero always show up to perform life-saving measures until the ambulance arrives. We all want to help; we all want to have first aid skills and CPR training to be a part of that solution.

The good news is that CPR Training and First Aid classes are accessible and available to everyone (www.everyoneshould.com) willing to spend a few hours; and a few dollars to experience how convenient and easy it is to learn how to save a life. Some quality time spent out of your busy day to learn and practice in a CPR training class will make the difference in your life and the lives of others.

Top 3 Reasons to take a First Aid Class and CPR Training:

CPR Certification Solutions offers convenient locations and an easy on-line registration.

Taking a CPR and First Aid Training is good for your community.

Being prepared for an emergency offers you peace of mind and the ability to act in an emergency

Imagine being in a First Aid class and learning how to identify a life-threatening problem, how to help an injured child or perform the abdominal thrust on a choking adult. These events happen and many people freeze or hope someone else can provide care. A simple CPR training or First Aid class will make the difference in how you react. The questions remain; how many people take the necessary steps to act and learn these simple and highly effective life saving skills? How many friends do you know who have explored a CPR training or a First Aid class? How would you know how to save a life and provide first aid skills to help a friend, family member or neighbor unless you took a CPR class?

The good news is there is a convenient way to learn and easy to register for CPR and First Aid classes. These CPR and First Aid classes are required for professional first responders or healthcare providers, that’s a good thing. Classes in CPR and First Aid are also taught to the lay person; aka the Good Samaritan, common citizens like you and your neighbor. CPR Certification Solutions, LLC

How To Save Someone's Life Who is Unresponsive and Breathing!

In a basic rescue there are 3 scenarios that can happen when a person collapses and you are the first person on the scene.

1) Unresponsive and No Breathing or Gasping - Activate EMS & Start CPR

2) Unresponsive and Breathing - Activate EMS & Find the Problem

3) Responsive - Get Consent before you help! This video is how to properly asssit someone who does not wake up but is still breathing normally.

As rescuers you need to FIND THE PROBLEM by looking for 3 things after you call 911 and get the AED (Automated External Difibrilator).

1) Continue to Monitor the Person's Breathing

2) Look for - Obvious Signs of Injury or Trauma (Bleeding, Bruising, Broken Bones, Burns, Bug Bites or Bee Stings)

3) Look for - Medical Identification Information (Jewelry - Bracelettes or Necklaces, Tatoo's or Smart Devices (Smart Watch or Smart Phone)

Once you've identified the problem you need to relay that information to whoever's on the phone with EMS or 911. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoyed this video. Special thanks to Life With Joy for a wonderful First Aid class! - The CPR Certification Solutions Digital Team

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Group Training Near Edison New Jersey

Adha from the Center for Enhancing Abilities recently hired my company, CPR Certification Solutions, to train their staff at their new location in Edison NJ. The team learned the proper way to do CPR and use an AED in case of an emergency. I Instructed the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR & AED course.

The energy and enthusiasm that the staff provided back to me while learning CPR was an infectious situation. It was a pleasure to work with professionals who wanted to learn, grow and know how to save someone’s life. Having worked with Neeta Das (Owner) in the past, I expected nothing less. Her dedication to the community and to giving adults with developmental disabilities a better life has touched my heart in many ways. Neeta’s passion for helping others has clearly filtered down to her team.

Thank you, Neeta, Adha, Priyank and the rest of the staff at the Center for Enhancing Abilities for being such wonderful students. I’m really looking forward to coming back in two years for your CPR recertification class!

On-Site American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Training.

I encourage a call to action for the companies who work with the New Jersey Department of Developmental Disabilities to keep your AHA CPR/AED certifications current. According to the CDC, the leading cause of death for adults with disabilities is heart disease. If you would like to learn CPR and train your staff the correct way to save someone’s life in an easy-to-learn, team-building format, schedule your CPR/AED Group training today with CPR Certification Solutions.

Don’t forget, if you don’t have an AED yet we offer AEDs.
