Meet Meg Glowinski, RN 🤍

Meg has been an RN for nine years and has been in the mother/baby specialty for about seven. She’s been working at OBC for four years as a postpartum nurse, visiting patients at home after their births and for newborn hearing screenings.

Her favorite part of working at OBC?
“My favorite part of my job is that it doesn’t feel like one. It genuinely brings me so much joy to visit families in their homes. Sometimes, I forget I’m not just visiting a friend with a new baby! 🤭 I especially love caring for first-time parents. It’s such a unique privilege to be allowed into a mother’s safe space during this life transition, and I don’t take that lightly. I love holding space for all of their questions, concerns, and doubts. We laugh and sometimes cry together, and hopefully, I’m able to leave them feeling more empowered and confident that they’re doing such a great job. It’s also super fun to visit repeat parents who I’ve visited in the past and see those little babies now helping me check their new brothers and sisters! 🥰”

A special part of Meg’s story is that she had her very own OBC baby in 2023 — her third daughter, Abigail Joy, born in Room 3 in Morristown. “Having the opportunity to be the patient and navigate the birth center as a mother has only increased my love for this special place. I experienced so much love, care, and attention from my nurses and midwives at the birth center and at home. I’ll never forget it.”

Fun fact: the photos of Meg in action are from her visit to postpartum nurse Katie after she welcomed her third baby girl — “another super special privilege to care for one of our own.” 🙂

Our Birthing Center, The First Birth Center in New Jersey in Over Two Decades!

New Jersey families finally have a birth center! Our Birthing Center, located at 25 Lindsley Drive, Morristown, NJ, was created to offer families a premier option for those seeking a natural childbirth and water birth. We combined the comfort and privacy of a home-birth with the safety and security of a hospital birth. Our Birthing Center empowers women to create the birth experience they desire in a safe and warm environment. Our Birthing Center will deliver care in a spa-like setting where trained practitioners will provide family-centered care to healthy pregnant women.

Our Midwives, Nurses & Doulas have all been trained in the Our Birthing Center Model. The practitioners subscribe to the "wellness" model of birth, which means they provide continuous, supportive care; free of interventions unless medically necessary. We put the mother in the driver’s seat, giving her the right to decide the circumstances of HER birth to deliver their babies in whatever way she finds most comfortable. Our Birthing Center is a professionally run medical facility. We are regulated by the State and are being accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC). Our Birthing Center accepts most major insurance plans and works diligently to ensure their families receive the same coverage they would in a hospital.

Our Birthing Center is privately owned and operated. With three luxurious birthing suites, that include spa like showers, birthing tubs, queen beds, WiFi, essential oil diffusers, private air control & blue tooth speakers in each suite, there is a high level of comfort and luxury we aim to provide. We also have a comfortable and large family room that all are welcome in; families decide who is invited to their births. Our Birthing Center offer tours weekly and encourages families to come see for themselves why they are the premier birthing choice for women seeking an intervention free birth.
