This moment overlooking the Hudson River was one of pure strength, surrender, and support.
My client was harnessed in a birth sling, allowing her to remain upright and mobile while feeling grounded and supported through each surge. The sling gently cradled her belly, helping her find balance and rhythm as her body worked to bring her baby closer.
During each wave, I offered counterpressure and quiet reminders to breathe, soften, and trust her instincts. Together, we created space for her to move, feel safe, and lean into the process — fully supported in body and mind.
This is what doula care looks like. It’s presence. It’s hands-on, intuitive guidance. It’s being held emotionally, physically, and energetically — so that you can stay connected to your body and your baby.
If you’ve been curious about what doula support could look like for your birth, I’d love to connect.
