Our March Impact Report is here! We are inspired by what can be accomplished when our two clinic locations come together to support our patients throughout their health journeys.

We also hosted our Mobile Dental Clinic on March 27–28, providing free dental care to 25 patients, including:
• 37 fillings
• 51 X-rays
• 15 cleanings
• 14 extractions

Today is National Doctors’ Day, and we are deeply grateful for the incredible dedication and compassion of our Medical Director and staff physician, Dr. Megan Boissonneault.

Awardee Spotlight: Volunteer of the Year

We have over 1,000 amazing volunteers, but each year we recognize a few of them for their exceptional service to our clients. This year, PBPA recognized Phil Cooper as a Volunteer of the Year. Phil, a corporate partner at Nelson Mullins, worked many hours to assist Urban Health & Wellness Clinic in their acquisition of Good Shepherd Clinic. Assisted by his colleagues, Phil drafted the transaction documents and pushed the transaction forward through months of complications to a successful closing in December.

We are thrilled to announce that Susan Whatley, MSN, APRN, FNP-C has been selected as Health Equity Leader of the Year at the 2026 Health Care Champion Awards, presented by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The Health Care Champion Awards honor frontline health care heroes alongside some of the industry’s most innovative and influential leaders.

This recognition comes at a particularly meaningful time, as our organization celebrates 10 years of service, beginning this April. For a decade, the clinic, under Susan's leadership, has remained committed to advancing health equity and expanding access to quality care in our community.

We are proud to stand alongside other free and charitable clinics across the state to raise awareness and support through the Georgia Charitable Care Network “Compassion Heals” campaign. Together, we are helping ensure that more Georgians have access to the care they need.

Grateful for the opportunity to share our mission and the impact of compassionate care in our community!

Across Georgia, nonprofit clinics like Good Shepherd in Clayton County are stepping up to provide free medical services for the state's 1.2 million uninsured.

Our clinic, part of the Georgia Charitable Care Network, is now part of a statewide “Compassion Heals” marketing campaign! With branding on billboards (you might even recognize one of the faces 😉), radio ads, and digital marketing, we are working to raise awareness about the need to bridge a critical gap in healthcare for the more than 1.2 million Georgians who lack health insurance.
